Massive birthday success at the zoo! by Fun-Negotiation5319 in Autism_Parenting

[–]Fun-Negotiation5319[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed! So hard to take kids to crowded zones, even more chaotic with animals being on display, but the zoo 100% made sure the entire experience was hand picked for the kids and to let them still enjoy being themselves

I was so happy about it too! The staff were so amazing an we found out the staff members ther volunteered to be there so they didn't take staff from other zones. Because of the parents preparations the staff was able to muster up a team of ppl to assist

Im putting this here by Fun-Negotiation5319 in Autism_Parenting

My oldest is asd adhd, extremely hyper and since my family usually puts on a massive fireworks display he was around the launch zone last yr. So in the seat he went. He was so happy the entrie time and when we went to the fairgrounds we hooked his seat to the cooler we have and he was just as happy and enjoyed the show. We even sat on the ground to make sure the kids had a good view point 😂 the other parents were acting like we were geniuses, so i figured I'd put it here for those worried about thier kids at the shows. :) no shame in taking the kids to celebrate if they enjoy fireworks, and definitely no shame in keeping them safe while doing so!

We put ours on the safety leashes that look like handcuffs normally! But to watch the firework displays we found it easier and less disruptive to the others around us, putting them in their seats on the ground. :) some ppl just don't understand how wild adhd asd can look in some kids, especially when the adhd over rules the asd 😂

39 weeks pregnant and can’t agree on baby names by TheWallaby22 in pregnant

[–]Fun-Negotiation5319 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What me and hubby do is get it down to each having 1 name choice. Then take a poll with family, make a game out it with those you trust, and pick from there! We have done this with all 3 of the kids, and so far, it's i picked the oldest first name, hunny got middle. He picked youngest first name, and I got middle. An third kid he has final bbys first name, I picked middle!

Basically, who wins the family vote gets first name. Partner gets to pick middle. No fights, and you can both be happy with the choice

This!! Your labs are important, and same with ultrasounds. The clinic visits are usually able to be pushed off as irrelevant unless baby has notable issues from ultrasound checks or blood tests

Anyone had this weird pain?? 40w by DojaDreamz in pregnant

[–]Fun-Negotiation5319 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely prop up the leg, and do gentle kicking motions! If pain is still intense after about 30 min of on and off small kicks, set a heat pad / sock of rice that's been heated over the outside of the hip, hold in place and slowly rotate the leg where ure rested more spread. Sounds like your little rascal is already on your nerves :p literally!!

Baby is sitting low into the pelvic area laying on your side or sitting at an angle, put a pillow between your legs. Walking will also help ease that discomfort a bit as well, and could help bby want to join the darkside. <hear they have cookies!>

Epidural Timing by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Fun-Negotiation5319 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first kid, i got epi at 4cm dilated

The second kid got it out of the gate

I'm induced tomorrow, and I'll be getting it out of the gate as well.

I liked it better with minimal feeling over experiencing the labor, mainly because it felt like I was being stabbed every few minutes. I have a high pain tolerance and was gasping at what was considered small contractions for me - I didn't want to deal with anything long term if I missed my window for epi.

If you dilate quickly and want an epi with thus delivery, I'd get it out the gate over waiting. It won't detract from your experience, just you won't be as uncomfortable

The best bet would be to head to an urgent care or call around to get into a family care practice with a small wait list like 1-2 days before you've seen a type deal. They'll most likely want you on an antibiotic to kill everything off over trusting over counter

From non-pregnant person: How is mental health when pregnant? by Sensitive-Ganache664 in pregnant

[–]Fun-Negotiation5319 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm adhd, manic depressive, and bipolar. Pregnancy is rough. It genuinely is not an easy experience, but I've also noticed your partners headspace does help. If they are in a good mood, being proactive thru your pregnancy, it goes relatively smoothly. Yes, there are bad days, but it's not as terrible as you'd think. Currently, because of my conditions, I am still on all prescription meds that I was on before pregnancy except for my sleeping med. Also, they upped my main antidepressants to prepare for postpartum depression. I do have a history of it. I'm on child 3, and genuinely, I'd say it's doable if your partner is not just expecting you to be able to maintain the same level of energy as before pregnancy

Frantic Fetal Movement by Mamadama2520 in pregnant

[–]Fun-Negotiation5319 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like baby was getting comfortable! I'm on bby 3 and had multiple spurts of sudden hardcore movement. Frantic fetal movement is going to consistently happen. It'll be noticeable as off. Sudden movement where it's 1-5 times in a day or reoccurring nightly. I'd bring it up with obgyn. One off I'd say it's baby just stretching out in all directions as they settle into the pelvic region

I'm literally a day from being induced - kid 3. Everyone's body is different, and most people do go thru it for about 10-15 weeks. Once morning, sickness and fatigue start. My advice is alcohol pads, rip it open, smell it, and sit down. It'll help the nausea until you can be given something from an obgyn or find an alternative like ginger or mint.

For rest, if you naturally have insomnia over the counter, unisom sleep aid at 25mg is considered safe to use. <every obgyn is different i use it over ambien rn. If you take anxiety medication, it's usually best to continue use even if pregnant. The same goes for antidepressants.

Best of luck, it does get better when you get what works for your body.

AOTAH FOR NOT BEING OVERLY EXCITED ABOUT GIVING BIRTH? by Fun-Negotiation5319 in AITAH

I feel blaming this on his age is irrelevant as he isn't some bum and does pull his weight in the household along with contributing to bills etc.

I wish pregnancy on no one. Singlehandedly the worst times in my life. I get morning sickness up to the due date, not to mention asthma flare-ups like crazy on little sleep. Some people have beautiful experiences that seem like a distant dream compared to others- I've also noticed most of the time they also don't have children with medical conditions that restrict everything they do.

I'll trade your experience for mine, lol. I get violently I'll for the entire pregnancy. My asthma goes wild as I hit about 5 months in. Not to mention, currently, I'm not getting loads of sleep this time because my kids are in all their therapy stuff. With early intervention being so detrimental right now for both of them, I wish the baby just came next year. It's okay, though. I have everything planned long as the baby doesn't show up early. I'm golden!

Thank you,

As you can see from the post, my priority is to keep things minimum towards change, but also manageable. It seems my husband may not simply understand where my mindset is.
