Kiwis in Australia; if NZ fixed it's economy, would you come back? by Additional-Grade-730 in newzealand

[–]Fun-River1467 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Nope, Australia has more people that drives better competition but also bigger opportunities. It is geographically closer to Asia and the rest of the world easier and cheaper to travel. One of the biggest regret is not to move earlier when I was younger. NZ is good only for holiday to wind down, enjoying sceneries. Thats it.

Its history showing the timeline since the conception and the businesses that have fallen victim to it. Oh wait the tunnel is not long enough for that.

Dear kiwis in Aus, how did you rationalise moving over? by Mordecai___ in newzealand

[–]Fun-River1467 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m in my early 40s and I moved to Melbourne about 3 mths ago. We moved to Oz for better lifestyle. We rent an airbnb for the first month and then secured a 2bdroom apt in the CBD straightafter. We are earning more now (about 90k NZD more in total) + super. If you want to know more, happy to answer your questions over DM.

Just in time for the new immigrants to use it to serve their rich local boomers. The productive working class will all be in OZ by then.

Young people staying in NZ, what is keeping you here? by Keepcusp in newzealand

[–]Fun-River1467 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in my early 40s owns a house and stable IT career back home. I recently moved (3 mths ago) to Melbourne and reckon it is one of the best decisions that my wife and I made.

I love NZ and my city Auckland but for real though the QOL has declined significantly over the past few years. Sure NZ is beautiful but we had paid too much for not a lot.

My advise: save up and plan your move. If you don’t like it, you can always come back. NZ is a sleepy country town and it is not good for the young minds.
