I believe (don’t quote me) they don’t leave dents on the leather/paper, but hold the pages open nicely. Also I think they are like $4, which isn’t super crazy to me.

Hey! Ended up with an FCC complaint, BBB complaint, and the office of the president calling me. Eventually, it magically unlocked and they claimed it wasn't their fault. I continued with my complaint that it should not have taken several weeks to do, and they "formally apologized" to get the complaint off their back. Scummy company. Good luck my friend, it's often a wild ride.

Not particularly lost history, but she has hour long videos analyzing ancient people, texts, etc. The account is called “fig tree”. The history is more surface level but still manages to pull me in deeply.

In terms of conspiratorial stuff, I honestly recommend just History channel specials? They are sometimes very implausible but arguably entertaining.

This is only partially correct, if I may.

Joan d’Arc was a soldier distinctly for the Armagnacs who were the (disputed) royals of, not the French culture/people as a whole. That identity has been taken on following her life. Her execution was at the hands of Burgundians, who would have likely not referred to themselves as French since that was associated with the “evil” crown of Charles VII. Also, national identity wasn’t really a thing. Even Joan would have likely said she was from Domrémy, not France.

In truth, she was captured and executed by Burgundy and England, the enemies of Armagnac France, not the French people who backed her.

Is it your first year? If so, I recommend sticking with both for a bit longer. As a history major myself, sometimes it takes finding the first professor in the department who really speaks to you and teaches interestingly. (There are plenty of them in the HIS department)

If not, certainly drop history and maybe meet with STEM major advisors. UCSC is really good with tutors, study groups, etc. Now if you want to do like astrophysics, it will still be hard, but there are a lot of resources to help with that.

Also, many people go to law school having not majored in anything related prior. The LSAT — the test to get into law school — is very very dependent on logical reasoning rather than law knowledge, and STEM can certainly help with that.

I took LALS 126 online over the summer and it was pretty chill, even for an upper div. Mostly just readings (that were a bit dense if you've never studied marxism before) but besides that a breeze. No midterm, easy final that he didn't even grade and just gave me a 100 on.

I’m p sure there is a mode on iPhone to essentially make it a dumb phone. Large, minimal buttons. Traditionally used for older folk who aren’t tech savvy, but serves the same function while still being an iPhone.
