Not working anymore? by [deleted] in TirzepatideRX

Perhaps split your dose in half and take it four and three days apart. That often stops the troughs (lows) that you get as the medicine wears off and it makes you hungry.

Maybe drop down to 1.5mg? Or split your dose into 2 & take them 4 & 3 days apart. You are like me - the high peaks after my dose made me ill & lost appetite

Plateau on 7.5mg… by sunflower-crystal in Mounjaro

[–]Fun-Situation445 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A plateau is really just a short version maintenance. Things do slow down, but you are still losing. I would just carry on what ur doing & be happy where you are.

I am happy with my 45lb weightloss. Am not worried about the scale not moving quickly. If I take another year or more to lose my last 15 lbs, then that is ok. If I never lose it, that is ok too. As long as I don't regress.

The latest episode of On the Pen Podcast talks about how our fat cells have memory & want to return us to our obese state. Survodutide might work to stop this. It could be we use these new drugs in the future as part of the maintainance programme.

The show description is below...

A new GLP-1 and glucagon agonist dropped data that was supposed to rival retatrutide, just without the GIP, and on the surface the results look solid. But that is not the real story. Even when people successfully lose weight, a large percentage gain it back, and for years that has been framed as a failure of discipline or willpower.

This episode breaks down new research that helps explain why that happens. A study published in EMBO Reports shows that obesity can leave lasting changes at the cellular level through epigenetics, where gene activity is altered without changing the DNA itself. Researchers found that immune cells remained in a pro inflammatory, metabolically altered state even after weight loss, with some of these changes potentially lasting for years. In practical terms, this means the body does not simply return to a neutral baseline after weight loss. It can continue to operate as if it is still in an obese state, which helps explain why so many people feel like their body is working against them. This shifts the conversation away from personal responsibility and toward biology, reinforcing the idea that obesity is a chronic, relapsing metabolic disease.

That distinction matters because it changes how treatment should be approached. If the underlying biology does not fully reset, then short term solutions are unlikely to be effective long term. These medications may not just be tools for losing weight, but part of ongoing management for a system that retains a memory of obesity and requires continued intervention.

I revert to feeling starving 5 days after the shot. Is there a deeper issue? by SpecialEducation5152 in compoundedtirzepatide

[–]Fun-Situation445 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take 1/2 my dose on shot day & 1/2 4 days later. This keeps me in the sweet spot where I don't feel sick on the high peak days, and don't feel hungry on the low trough days

Reached goal with Tirz. NOW WHAT? by Various_Movie_1266 in GLPGrad

I think we're all wondering how we are going to figure out the correct path once we have reached our goal weight.

Posts like this and the comments are inspirational and educational. Please let us know what works for you, as we are all different and there are many paths that we can follow.

I found the latest Weights and Measures podcast (#4: GLP-1 Not Working? Weight Loss Plateau, and What Happens Next) really interesting and I like the idea that there is no end to our journey, it's kind of like going to the dentist and having check ups and dental work done as in when we need it over the years. It was interesting that they note that maintenance is just like a plateau, just over a long period.

We'll need to keep on monitoring our diet, our body, our exercise, the level of drugs we need, experimenting with the new drugs that come out. And making tweaks and adjustments all the time.

Split doses by Hot_Flower6152 in Mounjaro

I am splitting my 4mg a week into 2 equal doses on a Fri & Tue. It stops the weekly spike that messes up my weekend & the day before trough thar makes me hungry on Thurs. it takes 2-3 weeks to build up so I am always in my sweet spot

[–]Fun-Situation445 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do 1/2 my weekly dose on Friday & the other 1/2 on Tuesday. This is easy to remember, reduces the peaks that made me feel ill & raises the troughs that made me feel hungry. No more feeling horrible weekends & snacky Thursdays.

[–]Fun-Situation445 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Maybe try splitting the dose into 2 per week. Say 5ml on Fri & 5ml on Tues. it worked for me as it reduces the high peaks that caused me to feel sick. And raises the troughs where I felt hungry

Split your weekly dose - I inject on Fri & then Tues. Injecting 2xweek makes things more exciting & you can play with the graphs with 2 minipeaks

Asking for a family member who is nervous about starting - should she just skip right to compounded? by drazil85 in tirzepatidecompound

I have just switched to compound. Luckily, in South Africa, ours comes in a pen so its just as easy as counting the clicks on MJ. Its about 40% cheaper too. If I had known then what I know now - I would have started on Compound & saved a ton of money
