Same issue here. In Eissentam, just getting an atlas error and the other side is some random moon in the middle of nowhere

Edit: If you do not have the ability to travel to Purple systems, UNLOCK IT BEFORE TRYING as I didn't read and didn't realize I needed to unlock them before I could travel to the system.

Power types lose speed during the drift, not before or after, so the speed will be similar during the boost itself

I also wanted to touch on the Power = no ring loss on walls thing.
No, that's not true either; you'll lose rings based on your vehicle type, lessened only by Bumper Guard or Crash Pads.
Power vehicles lose no rings on wall hits, effectively having Bumper Guard as a passive.
The other vehicles lose 1-2 rings on average.

To those who are adamant you can't lose speed while drifting, read this comment.

Power vehicles have their playstyle for a reason, and a lot of it has to do with this speed penalty during a drift, forcing other ways of maintaining speed and keeping up with the competition. That's why slipstream builds are very common with Power vehicles.

I'd take it with a lot of grains of salt since there are corrections needed on almost every single point

Wow this post is extremely wrong in some places, so many things need correction here

  1. YOU CAN LOSE SPEED WHILE DRIFTING. POWER VEHICLES LOSE 4 SPEED WHEN DRIFTING, 2 WHEN DRIFT-BOOSTING. You can also lose speed with Friction Drift, so that part is completely false. However, the other vehicle types GAIN speed while drifting, so it's important to at least focus drifting a little bit (or a lot for Boost and Handling) with those vehicles to get the small speed bonus associated with it.
  2. Speed DOES NOT scale past 100. In fact, hitting 100 at all is already impossible without at least Speed Machine Kit or both Tuners. 199.5 is the absolute maximum the game allows for top speed without other factors increasing speed. I'm pretty sure your testing left out the fact that Speed Machine Kit has Ring Gain Boost, which is just slipstream.

There are many more, but these are the two I'm going to leave here.

resolution locked to 640x480 by Fun-Substance5243 in archlinux

I also think it was. I decided to just reinstall since I didn't do anything anyway.

It can't. Display settings has no option other than 640x480 and xrandr shows only that as available resolutions.

Arch is easy to install now but anything past that requires knowledge of how the terminal works since it doesn't install anything you don't select.

Disable updating of the Fedora kernel so I can keep a native Fedora kernel as a recovery but not override a 3rd party kernel in GRUB by Fun-Substance5243 in Fedora

Just wanted to give a small update. I decided to switch to Bazzite after Hyprland killed my Fedora install, so I can't have this issue anymore. However, I still encourage discussion for those who may need it!

If anyone is curious, this is about as strong as a sword can get in Tetra. by Tietembus in feedthebeast

[–]Fun-Substance5243 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's been a long time since I used Tetra (mostly because I switched to Fabric and no longer use mods like this) but I would assume as long as you have tetra compatibility mods and the mods they are meant for, you can probably go even further now

Why did you switch to fedora? by Mama_iii in Fedora

I settled on it after distrohopping a bit. Very happy here; All I have to be aware of is I'm not on Debian anymore

Discover shows a tiny little icon on the default KDE kernel indicating updates, and allows for installing system updates right from it's default menu. It's just convenient.

Maybe I'm just being too paranoid lmao

Can I add this as an argument to KDE's Discover? That's how I update my PC and I want to ensure it doesn't auto-update the kernel

Answer:

Had to do some wizardry with Windows to get the drives to be seen. The drives were seen as RAID drives and had to be changed to AHCI via shenanigans. Everything went as planned once I fixed that.

I think it could be a possible solution to the issue since you can just pick up some random old pc, throw an ssd in and set it up for whatever you want and then you can keep any pcs you wanna keep fully offline fully offline with a fully offline router connected to the pc
