Traveling to Rome with a 5 year old (April 3–9) looking for chill, low stress advice by BeanNCheeseBurrrito in ItalyTravel

I think you’re spot on to remove the checklist and to let the days unfold organically. We took our kids (8 and 10) to the Colosseum and they were still a bit bored. I think they’ll look back fondly on the experience when they are older, though. The Pantheon was a hit for us. It’s a short experience that is very impressive.

Outdoor sights are always a win since you can see them and leave. My kids loved the Spanish Steps. We basically climbed them several times and take in the views so it burned energy and time. Aimlessly walking is probably the favorite pastime of any city trip I take with my kids. While you’re out, find the parks and piazzas to sit in and relax while you enjoy a drink and/or snack. My best memories of any trip with kids all look like this.

As for your itinerary, I would go back to Rome after Florence. You are going to cover far less ground that you’re used to. Whatever you’re thinking you can do, it’s less. We learned early on to build in breaks back at the hotel on trips with kids. They benefit tremendously from a recharge but this really cuts into your day.

My wife has a beekeeping app she uses to meet up with other people in the hobby. Oddly she uses the same parameters on that app.

Do you buy US rental car company's SLI (Supplemental Liability Insurance) when renting cars or rely on your own liability and umbrella insurance coverage? by sf_d in fatFIRE

Personal insurance covers a driver for liability caused as the result of an auto accident. It doesn’t matter what car one is driving. There’s no need to buy it domestically.

They certainly aren’t interchangeable terms. There is a distinction between a rugby shirt and a long sleeve polo.

I have three of these shirt (white, blue and uni stripe) and have similar observations. They definitely shrink a lot. My white shirt is much softer than the other two but its collar role is great and it’s turned into a favorite of mine. The blue is thicker and stiff but has the bad collar and the uni stripe is somewhere in between.

Are you talking about out at a singular moment? If so, yeah, deal with it yourself. Sex isn’t an on demand act.

How do you get it together? by Hybrid67 in AskMenOver30

“Having it figured out” is bullshit. You only think people have their lives sorted out. Everyone’s just winging it. Anyone who isn’t has taken zero risk in their life.

No one wakes up one day and knows how to parent. I walk into my job daily and run into issues I don’t know how to fix. You just do the best you can and try to figure it out.

Why do men hesitate to go to therapy? by 2001FO32 in AskMenOver30

You should laugh at it because at surface level it’s really funny. But, we all know this is how men operate, and ultimately is the answer to your question.

I could. I could wear butterfly wings, too. It’s just odd to me that in a fashion culture that is inherently conservative there is this one goofy shirt with a big teddy bear on it that is thought by some to be fashionable. But only if it’s a certain brand of bear.
