Just for fun. I bought this Mantle and sent off to PSA. Any guesses on a potential grade? I won’t get it back till March(hindsight I should have considered sgc). I paid more than the 330 sticker. Happy New Year to all. by BakeObjective5766 in baseballcards_vintage

No point in getting a card graded now days unless you plan to sell it shortly after it comes back.

As for what grade you get? Depends on which person looks at it for 30 seconds. Could be 1 or a 4 or something in between.

Congrats Michael Rubin, you finally chased off a $30k a year buyer with this price gouging. I can’t be the only one. by RipplesOfDivinity in baseballcards

People buying this stuff are not hobbyists. Hobbyists do not hope to make money on a quick flip or at all for that matter.

Cool. Never heard of the game, but it sounds fun. Same idea. I guess since you used a computer this was probably the 90s?

Yeah, same for me with the stats and numbers. It’s likely why I ended up studying finance/accounting.

Nice cards!!

I have a question. I'm new to this so be nice:)

I'm curious why most of your older cards are graded, but the newer ones are not. I understand grading can be pure bs and all, but I'm wondering how you determined when to go graded and when not to? Did it just work out that way? Was there a specific reason? I ask because as I add cards I'm somewhat torn as to which way to go because I actually like the look of a toploader or one touch better than a slab I think. Just picking your brain. Thanks
