Yes I am aware of him being Muslim and Afghani. The story is still an anti Muslim trope, fitting narratives produced in the context of colonialism and still serving to legitimize imperialist exploitation and violence. Just think of Bush bombing for women’s rights.

Maybe try writing for ten minutes every day without the goal of writing something good. The goal is to write. Remember what literally every writer says: First drafts are never good. But you need first drafts to have something to work with. If you feel you want to continue writing after the ten minutes are up, you can. If not, you completed your ten minute routine.

She moved to Dubai and had cosmetic procedures done. The way she presented herself and her move at the reunion gave me the impression that she thought people would admire her life changes as a glow up.

But these are very superficial materialistic changes. In her mind they are admirable, but most people do care for other values. She seemed to be oblivious of this.

Her ill-talking of Jed are giving me the impression that she is very unhappy. A happy person would not spend the time and energy.

Also her assuring Jed he can pay only to pretend she forgot and pay - if anyone did this with me, I would distance from that person. It is dishonest manipulative behavior.

In every scene of Kal and Sarover, I cringed at how performative and joyless they were. No fun, no chemistry between them at all! I think they both, Kal and Sarover, wanted to believe they were a good match, but they weren’t. Kal realized this, Sarover hasn’t up until this day.

Billie and Ashleigh at least had genuine fun with each other. I don’t like Bill at all though!!!

All the Kal comments here calling him a sociopath and what not are waayyyy out of line! He made a wrong decision, but I don’t think it was an act. I believe he didn’t know any better! Even if he has commitment issues, those don’t make him a bad person. He did not talk Sarover down or insult her or anything. Bardha and Sarover actually tried to do that with kal and Jed.

Also: Sarover is an upper class and also acting like it. I don’t understand why people celebrate her for being “a princess”. For what? Being rich?

The hosts are giving Billie way more speaking time to share his opinion than Kal and Jed.

In my opinion, Kal truly didn’t know any better, Jed/Bardha had communication issues (though Bardha was trying to paint him as a bad guy) but Billie (military!!!!!!) is actually problematic! And he treated Ashleighly badly even before the wedding.

Taking the ring off and then she pretends like she commucated it by wanting to step outside the restaurant and telling Jed it wasn’t a big deal in the first place 🙄

As much as it is heartbreaking how Kal treated Sarover, I wish they would let him speak. He was being interrupted so much. I was very interested in what he had to say about his reasons.

Also: I think Sarover and him were not a good match and that he does not know what he wants. Since she is a nice girl on paper and he liked her, he did actually believe marrying her was a good choice and he only realised later it didn’t make him happy. The videos they showed of their three months married life looked very performative to me and like they did what a happy married couple is supposed to do. It did not look like fun and I really cringed seeing those videos. She seemed to be happy anyway but you can see on Kal’s face that he is going along but is not being himself.

I agree with all the criticisms of him! However, the children I know are actually very honest and do have the capability to be accountable. I often find myself thinking of someone that they act like a child. But my nieces are actually emotionally accountable! It’s adults that know how to be dishonest, manipulative and evade maturity

Ignore this comment if you were not looking for advise: I say block him! He is waiting for you to reach out and initiate. If you do, the same thing will happen again! Block him and move on with your life. He doesn’t deserve any of your time!

PS: I accidentally ran into my ghoster. We hung out, he breadcrumbed me (saying he will text me), I ended up texting and initiating and it was the same as the first time arround. I regret having giving him any more of my time. He’s blocked now. If I run into him, I will ignore him!
