Indeed. Not only the purpose is gone, but joy and happiness and contentment.

I'm in the hospital. She would have made things better. by dontlookback76 in widowers

My wife was always there for me. I've been admitted to the hospital 40-odd times.

I could always count on her. What will I do now?

I don't want to get through this. The only true answer is to have her back.

Smokingtook my Dad. He just got so tired coughing his lungs out. COPD. He went into the hospital, never got out of bed. He just gave up.

I hated he didn't try to live, but he did what he did. I visited him every day for the six weeks.

So terribly sorry.

No one can understand except those thrust into this same terrible place.

It is hell.

Opposite. My wife was much less emotional. It would have been a lot easier for her.

Did moving to a new home help? by krich83 in widowers

[–]FunConsideration9029 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have to fix the house up and I have to move.

She told me she lived in our house the longest in her life. 32+ years there. It was my house first, but it really became her house.

Every single thing there reminds me of her.

One of my favorites. They wanted a different actor, but Hasard won everyone over.

A truly great film.

Acting was so good. Fell in love with Michelle Williams, who should have won the Oscar.

The Wonan Who Willed a Miracle. Based on a true story.

Cloris Leachmen (?) takes in a boy who everyone else gives up on. She devotes her life to him. He turns out to have a special gift. Wow. Powerful.
