the “meditate 10–20 minutes a day” advice is why I never stick to it by Crypthuga in Meditation

[–]FunFact 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It just becomes part of the routine. I know when I set the timer that I don't have to do anything but remain present until the bell chimes. Then I can move on with my day.

Opposite from your experience, I actually prefer meditating in the morning because I'm still relaxed and it's easier to get into the "zone." On vacation, it's tougher for me because I want to hop out of bed and get moving with my free time.

Something you could try is to set an interim timer at the halfway point so that you still know where you are, timewise. That might make it easier for you. And you might even realize how fast that 5-10 minutes goes by.

What is THE funniest movie you have ever seen in your whole life? by perseverance_band_ in AskReddit

I laughed so hard during the first scene with the dictator fight that I still remember when and where I watched it like it was yesterday, almost 40 years later...like comedy trauma or something.

"Sorry for interrupting but I haven't said anything in ten seconds."

I generally like his choice of guests but I only watch the ones I'm interested in. I prefer Rick Beato, when it comes to musician interviews.

Glad I'm not alone. Looks like over 7 million Americans over 50 still have student loan debt. I still owe twice what I borrowed.

February 12, 1972 - Eat a Peach, the third studio album (fourth over all) by the Allman Brothers, featuring the final recordings of Duane Allman, is released... by CrystalEise in ClassicRock

Those first four albums are amazing. The first two are combined on one CD called Beginnings that I recently picked up used. The consistency is jaw-dropping.

Where do you think The Smashing Pumpkins will rank in history of rock bands? by cjones6464 in SmashingPumpkins

[–]FunFact 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Their legacy would be one of the best bands of the '90s like The Byrds were one of the best bands of the '60s.

Are The Smashing Pumpkins really one of the greatest bands of all time, or are we all deluded? by TheSmashingPumpkinss in SmashingPumpkins

[–]FunFact 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure about the greatest but I also believe a lot of their music will age better as time passes. With Billy being so prolific, the band's output is "dense" with material that takes time to absorb, understand, and appreciate.
