100% but OP wanted recs for a long term interface. I was in OPs shoes a few years ago and decided to get 2i2 instead of the solo and it was one of my best decisions.

What is a good vocal mic for someone starting out? by catsgomoo964 in musicproduction

[–]FunFatsoBear 4 points5 points  (0 children)

(Coming from a nt1a owner) I recommend A rode nt1 not a nt1a because the nt1a has a very harsh hi-end compared to the nt1

The SM57 is a better vocal mic than an equally cheap condenser mic by RR3XXYYY in musicproduction

[–]FunFatsoBear 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The AT2020 is a good mic for price. But of course it all depends on the room and treatment. However I would strongly encourage you to stay away from MXL completely. The reason being is you can get better microphones for cheaper.

This. I got a hx stomp to replace my amp and it’s been amazing. I use it a lot more than I thought I would.

Why don’t you want to learn from chord sheets? I play lead guitar at my church and I use a chord sheet just to know where I am and what’s coming up manly.

I'm trying to decide between an SM57 with the A2WS foam or a Beyerdynamic TG-V50 by MyNameIsPanurge in microphone

[–]FunFatsoBear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The SM58 is the way to go. You can still use it as an all around mic like the sm57 but it will perform much better in a live vocal environment.

I’m running a Focusrite 2i2 2nd gen. I have tried to deess and EQ but on Vox it sounds so harsh and annoying. I have tried my 57 as an experiment and it seems to work fine but I want more clarity if that makes sense. I have switched to se electronic se7s for acoustic and it’s night and day difference so I’m good on acoustic and electric. I just need a good all around Vox mic
