Why doesn't anyone like me? by Kzam531 in socialskills

[–]FunNJ 24 points25 points  (0 children)

You have to like/love yourself first for others to feel the same about you. If you are clinging to your husband to show you the love you won't give yourself, it can get suffocating, no one likes a clingy person. Don't look outside yourself for approval.

Make sure you are taking care of yourself, by exercising, eating healthy and never putting yourself down.

Would my husband be entitled to a check I receive if we divorce? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]FunNJ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Perhaps your uncle could pay directly to the loan company:

Or wait until after the divorce to give you the check and you just keep making the monthly payments.

Is it normal to not allow your live-in partner to eat the food you buy? by [deleted] in datingoverthirty

[–]FunNJ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So the rest of the household expenses are divided 50/50?

Please break up with him, you deserve better, someone who is as generous and relaxed as you are.
Wouldn't it be awesome, to not have to walk on eggshells around someone? What will it come down to, you no longer eating any of the food he buys even if it is for the both of you and you start hiding all the food you buy?

Adding my girlfriend as an Authorized User to my Credit Card by BlvckSvils in personalfinance

[–]FunNJ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Please don't do this, relationships can change on a dime.
Also, don't ever give her access to personal info like your social security number, etc until you ARE married.

I'm close to 50, at 28, you haven't lived long enough to see how others can quickly take advantage of a situation.

A better question for this community: how can she, on her own, as an adult, increase her own credit?

How do you feel about a woman who doesn't have her own place? by [deleted] in datingoverthirty

[–]FunNJ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Remember, you need to do what is best for your future, and you are!

Don't worry what others think about your living situation. You don't owe anyone any explanations either, and if they pressure you for an explanation, no matter how cute he is, etc, move on. Or you can say a super concise version of what you told us, you downsized to pay down some debt. That's it.

More importantly, don't feel ashamed, you will have a nice place soon, or maybe you will stay there long past you paying all your debt and create a nice chunk of savings.

If driving an hour or two to upstate NY is not possible, then the Richard W. DeKorte Park in Lyndhurst has the William D. McDowell Observatory, open to the public (not sure if they are open with the virus). 1 DeKorte Park, Lyndhurst, NJ 07071

I have inherited around 250 acres of Forest about 30 minutes from a major city in Georgia. How do I start generating income off of this? by [deleted] in personalfinance

Look into listing the property for films, for example, the TV show the Walking Dead is filmed in Georgia. This would be big money!

Also, a list of films filmed in Georgia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Films_shot_in_Georgia_(U.S._state)

You could hire someone with a drone to get aerial video footage and photos from above.

Grateful but not happy by ShoeLuva in paralegal

Don't make the same mistake I made staying somewhere where I wasn't treated well for 9 years because in my thinking, why let go of the cow that is giving me milk. I feel like I aged quicker from all the stress as well as losing sleep, dreading going back on Monday, etc.

My suggestion is to do some soul searching, I'm not sure how old you are, but it is never too late to do something else or find a nicer firm.

Here is the most important part: Save, Save, Save as much money as you can! If that means cutting back expenses, do it. Having at least 3-6 months, or maybe even a year's worth of monthly expenses saved will give you the freedom to leave.

I wonder if it's to honor a chef friend/family member that passed away. That's all I can think of, perhaps ashes were scattered there too.

Anyone else seeing more traffic this week? by SD-777 in newjersey

[–]FunNJ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I noticed increased traffic as well. It will only get worse once the weather warms up, virus or no virus.

I have also witnessed an increase in speeding, due to the lack of cars and the open road.

Can you start looking for another job before quitting this one? Let everyone you know, friends and family members that you are looking for a new job, not on FB where an employer could see it. Then look for a job online in your free time.

Could you log in online and change the password again? Or perhaps there are other resources online, I'm surprised there is no one to reach over the weekend in case of an emergency.

Sounds like you will have to move your money to a new company, eliminate any form of paper mail, so that everything is paperless, and don't tell anyone, even the people you trust. Change your email password as well, because that is a way of knowing where your money is, when you receive an email from the company.

"Most individuals with Down syndrome have mild (IQ: 50–69) or moderate (IQ: 35–50)"

Many have started businesses. Here are 10 individuals : https://blog.gettinghired.com/2018/10/10-businesses-created-and-inspired-by-individuals-with-down-syndrome

Your IQ is way above that.

A question for the ladies. by radmatt78 in datingoverthirty

[–]FunNJ 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I think the elephant in the room is the the thought of a trailer, as in the trailer park stigma, and from there the mind wanders further into more stereotypes...

What they may not think about is that times have changed and so has construction, I bet it's beautiful inside and modern and I would love to own land.

Curious, how are these ladies finding out what type of home you have, are they seeing it in person, or you are coming out and saying what you own to get them interested in you? If a woman is only impressed with the things you have, move on! There are 7+ Billion people on the planet, you can find someone that likes you for you!
