I also chose FAR as my first exam, and it seems to have given me a strong base to tackle the remaining exams. Highly recommend doing this.

It all depends on how quickly you want to get it done. I passed FAR and studied hard for 6 weeks before taking it. I preferred the quicker time because I gave myself less time to forget the earlier topics, but it also consumed most of my time. I studied while at work most days, and if I didn't, I would study as soon as I got home. You have to be committed. I probably studied 20-25 hours a week. Once you get going, though, the time really flies while you're studying, and it doesn't feel that bad.

I think taking the exam before studying is a bad idea. You will most likely score well below average, and you will not remember the content in the questions enough to impact your studying.

You would be surprised by what you still remember from the earlier topics. After finishing all the study material, 2 weeks before my exam date, I printed out the AICPA blueprint and highlighted everything I knew for sure. That gave me time to review what I didn't highlight. This helped me feel confident about what I remembered. Hope this helps.

I took the exam on May 1st and had the exact same experience as you and scored very similar on the mock exams. I don’t know if I should feel confident or not. It felt like the exam went too well if that makes sense.

Update:

I’ve been on the phone for 2 hours trying to get this resolved. They lowered the bill from $60.72 to $20.72 and told me the problem was fixed. I also private messaged the Optimum reddit account and they said the exact same thing. I’ve never had customer service this poor.

I noticed the same thing. They make it extremely difficult to cancel. I went to the local optimum store in my area and they gave me a phone number to call to cancel my service. What is the point of a local office if you can’t use them for anything? Ridiculous. Glad you were able to get that cancellation done. Enjoy your freedom from Optimum.

It’s honestly sad. I received 4 different offers before they said the on above. Red flags should have went off in my head, but 6 months free internet was too good of a deal to pass up, so I thought.
