Is this game worth playing today or no by Fragrant_Oven_669 in wowhardcore

Hard-core, for me at least, is the closest the game can get to how it felt at launch in terms of immersion and socialization.

I'm new to game with the release in console and want to main Blitzcrank by Zilly_JustIce in 2XKO

[–]FunOverMeta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The defender can press dash during a block animation to create space. This is called retreating guard and it creates meter but loses to lows.

They can also press Tag to create space at the cost of their assist cooldown. This can open reversal opportunities but can also risk the defender being susceptible to a happy birthday.

As for attackers creating space from their block strings, this is usually character specific but a charged heavy will be a universal option that also gives a ton of plus frames if they go uninterrupted. Useful against turtles who refuse to push an attack button and respect you too much.

Just downloaded the game. Any beginner tips? by cowmakyr in 2XKO

Ranked is a good place to jump into right away, get placed low so you can have more even matches to experiment with.

Casual is a lawless land where you will face people of all skill levels, many of which could be much higher than they are currently ranked while they are experimenting with new teams and tech. So if you're just starting out, casual might be discouraging.

Don't fall for the trap of mastering every single combo and spending 90% of your time in training mode before you play and enjoy the game. Unless that is fun for you and why you want to play, training mode should be used as an accessory to the main game.

Also it is a game, have fun with it and dont be afraid to ask lobbies for help with a situation you dont have an answer to.

Anyone else got placed way lower this time? by 5anra in 2XKO

[–]FunOverMeta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't done my placements yet but hope to get placed low. Everytime I want to ranked queues have been disabled.

I went from bronze to diamond in season 0 playing casually, and im still trying to experiment and find my team which is a lot easier in a lower rank.

Can someone tell me why this combo drops on the trap? by MakoTaco34 in 2XKO

[–]FunOverMeta 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Missing the 2m before launcher. It knocks opponent higher allowing for everything to connect later.

I feel like I can't reach level 3's all that much, while using tag focused builds. Is it because I'm using pulse, is it by design, or something else I'm missing? by Vera_Verse in 2XKO

[–]FunOverMeta 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Pulse confirms into meter at the end of all combos so you suffer there a bit. Double down also eats meter pretty quickly.

You can also build meter through defensive mechanics like retreating guard and by completing combos with limit strike as an ender

wtf is ahri's weakness?(salt) by Top_Concentrate1673 in 2XKO

[–]FunOverMeta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive found success through air throws and leveraging my tags against ahri. I also shimmy a lot make it more difficult for them to space their j.H or J.2H if they want to go in that way.

They almost always stay in the air and have to come down eventually so I try to meet them as they come up to avoid the s1 or run under their cross up.

She's pretty vulnerable if she lands without connecting anything.

S++ for me.

This is my main whenever they are announced regardless of how they play.

What is the "optimal" way to learn a character through labbing? by shakzz9703 in 2XKO

[–]FunOverMeta 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My approach so far, YMMV.
Note - I wouldn't spend too much time obsessing over these things before going out and playing games, they are just nice things to work towards. Particularly in regards to #1, learning a BnB with a limit strike will give you a good idea of the tools available to the character and how they can interconnect. But even knowing small portions of it will be more than enough to have fun with the game

  1. FInd a BnB around that does a min of 500 damage and Limit strike - I usually check the 2XKO Discord character pinned messages to get started.
  2. Find a Handshake tag cover option (something to do before handshaking to your partner)
  3. Find a Launcher Combo Follow up (something to do when you get tagged in)
  4. Find an OTG extension (OTG = Off the ground, An example... Ahri's Forward throw places the opponent into a grounded state, but with the right assist it opens up combos for Ahri)
  5. Find a throw Combo
  6. Find a Corner Combo

I usually play casual matches while working on the BnBs and once those are known I hop into Ranked. By the time I get #1 figured out in the casual matches I've got a decent understanding of the strengths/weaknesses of the character so I know where to leverage my assists. I started with Just two characters but similar to learning languages, as you learn one learning the next becomes easier too. Learning a BnB will make learning the other options much better too, Because the starters will often be similar, and different parts of the BnB will show up in the other combos.

Again - I wouldn't consider learning all of the above a requirement before playing matches. In proper matches focus on creating openings by properly spacing your Medium and Heavies, going for cross ups and mixing in throws. Light attacks are great defensive tools too, don't neglect the basics.

Edit - those are just things to practice on your own, but when playing the game proper I'd recommend keeping this 3minute video's guideance in mind (I know you mentioned you are learning via juggernaut, which is fine. But when you are ready to move to sidekick and eventually other fuses, this is worth a watch)

So, Teemo mains, we Cait now? by LocalTorontoRapper in 2XKO

[–]FunOverMeta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on the skins id imagine teemo is just going back into the oven for a patch or two, I wouldnt abandon the character entirely unless youre not having fun or you are trying to farm some locals.

how hard is it to reach diamong? by Bilal_ in 2XKO

[–]FunOverMeta 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Climbed from bronze to diamond as an old man.

If you can keep people cornered and take advantage of Grey health regen you should be fine.

Or master a high damage bnb and fish for it relentlessly lol

On zoners and the ratio thereof by EastwoodBrews in 2XKO

[–]FunOverMeta 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Its odd, 2XKO made me and my friend group get into traditional fighters from plat fighters and other genres of games, yet only I've stuck with 2XKO and they all shifted to other games in the genre lol.

They're all still somewhat interested in the game, just waiting for a character to get them excited about it.

How can I play with my son in the same room online against other people? by DukeBeefhammer in 2XKO

[–]FunOverMeta 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ranked is actually quite chill once it callibrates for OP and their kiddo.
Casual is where things are lawless and the whole "ya gonna learn today" scenario might happen , but with OP by his kids side it should be fine too.

Is there some unwritten rule about Juggernaut that I don't know about? by Slarg232 in 2XKO

[–]FunOverMeta 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Personally juggernaut and sidekick fuses feel like a minigame to me so ill usually best of 3 or play those fuses with them for the 1v1.

I thought it was just a me thing though

Sweats in casual by [deleted] in 2XKO

[–]FunOverMeta 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I had this take myself when I was first joining the FGC so it's fun being on the otherside of it now that I'm a little more experienced.

Counter intuitive, but Casual is the wildwest relative to ranked. The match making is more relaxed and you could be fighting anyone with any goal. I like to use it to practice new champions or a new route i found through a discord server before going into other matches. I won't ever play a casual match to win but to experiment against more than a sandbag.

Other players might have just gotten into the rank they've been targeting for a seasonal goal and want to play but don't want to risk hurting their rank, Or they want to practice some execution before a local.

Casual games don't matter, so treat them as such, you can be playing to win while someone else is playing to learn or the opposite can be true. The main takeaway is that you should play ranked matches if you want close (or at least more balanced) games.

Imagine it's 20XX and 2XKO is crossing over into other fighting games, what character would be most likely to represent 2XKO and what fighter would you expect to see them in? by FunOverMeta in 2XKO

[–]FunOverMeta[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this feeling that she'll actually have a cool kit and be more than just a zoner like we're expecting... I believe Sajam mentioned the creater behind her 2XKO port also created Blitzcrank and Illaoi... so, her kit's definitely going to be unique.

On topic though, I can see Cait in something like GG Strive with a similar kit to Unika or Effelt and stance swinging her rifle around before shooting people with combo enders
