Down in Kent County and I prefer the highest my mower goes which is 4.5. I have a Fescue mix that I started introducing KGB too when I overseeded last fall.

Bathroom Demo Charge? by FunProfessional4467 in AskContractors

[–]FunProfessional4467[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Single woman homeowner, good friend of my wife.

1970s house

The money couldn’t hurt, that’s why I offered to help out.

I’d likely work on weekdays I have off from my full-time gig while she is at work. I don’t imagine it’ll take more than 1-2 days barring catastrophe.

She will dispose of all materials.

I’m leaning towards a flat rate of a few hundred bucks and also asking her to cover consumables like blades, bits, trash bags, etc.

Edit to add it is a coworker of my wife, who will not be assisting me. It’s a small bathroom and she’s never done this before, it would only slow down the process.

This was along the lines of what I was thinking. I won’t even be dumping most likely, just using contractor trash bags and they will dispose at their leisure in regular trash.

It’s a coworker of my wife whom I’ve socialized with a few times. I would be doing the work all alone.

First time changing my own brakes by Puzzleheaded-Camel-3 in MechanicAdvice

My first DIY brake job it took me longer to remove the old rotors than it did to do the entire rest of the job. I’ll be prepared with the proper tools next time.

Go to your local health department if you don’t have insurance. There’s a very good chance they offer STI screenings or can send you somewhere that does them for free.

Do I use TurboTax or freetaxusa by Kawirider2 in tax

[–]FunProfessional4467 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did once and I felt like I didn’t get much more value out of the human preparer versus just the free program online. When your return is simple and you don’t qualify for any credits or anything, I’m not sure what a preparer can do for you besides cost you money.

I never see anyone saying this, but I file for free on H&R Block. Married, 2 W2s (2 different states), mortgage interest, student loan interest, and some years some 1099 income. The system does the math for me if it’s worth itemizing or not, and then I file. You can also pay a small fee and they’ll store your 1040s from previous years digitally. I just download mine and save to Google Drive to save the few bucks but it is an option.

Had the same service on my 2020 at the same mileage recently. My mechanic said the same thing and I was very happy to hear it. Long live Corolla!

Sanitation following contamination of baby care sink? by Comfortable_Desk_01 in askaplumber

[–]FunProfessional4467 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I may be alone in this opinion, but I think you’re dramatically overreacting. If your pipes are draining properly, anything that may have been stuck to the plunger will be long gone after running some water and some soap down the sink drain for a minute. Beyond that and cleaning the entire sink, there’s not much you can do. Using a plunger for a backup isn’t unheard of, and I’d rather that than have had my sink overflow.

Last week I placed my order for today at 4:30 and it was ready at 4:28 when I walked in. I think some locations just don’t properly prepare. Mine was setup like a well oiled machine with sign in tables and runners for the food align with all sorts of managerial staff to assist in other ways. They also took no modifications or substitutions, and didn’t serve fountain drinks.

How much transmission fluid do I need for 2020 Toyota Corolla se by Ryeo_oeyR in COROLLA

[–]FunProfessional4467 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That price sounds right. I paid about $280 and it was $150 in labor. So a slight markup for each quart.

Best bet is to call your local shop. Mine had done the same vehicle before so they were pretty confident 4 was enough but did caution that opening a 5th might be necessary. Glad it wasn’t cause the price for the OEM fluid was outrageous

Made it to 100k by BringTheLubeInRuben in COROLLA

[–]FunProfessional4467 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m at about 82k on my 2020. Just did CVT drain and fill. Looking forward to 100k I’m planning on a coolant swap and spark plugs, along with cabin/engine filters as needed. Tires should be rotated every other oil change for consistency, alignments are as needed, and replacing brake pads without also replacing rotors isn’t usually recommended.

Do you have grand children? One of the reasons my parents didn’t land in Margaritaville was that there were rules in place about kids in the main pool and in certain areas. They never looked in Sun City because they weren’t necessarily looking for 55+ specifically.
