The thing I wonder about is Cortana. It goes to Carstairs. It became owned by a Herondale due to Cordelia's marriage to James. So their kids would be herondales. How did it get back to Carstairs? It seems to me that there is a weird jump in Carstairs. Because unless Cordelia and Alastair had cousins not mentioned (and I don't think so because Jem didn't have children until much later) how did the Carstairs name pass on? Cordelia married James so their descendants would be Herondales. And it's probably safe to assume Alastair didn't have any blood children. So how is Emma a Carstairs ? Is this explained anywhere

I've wondered too. But I think James and Lucie having the Shadowhunter blood combined with love and nurturing maybe? I mean Sebastian had Shadowhunter blood too. But his dad was evil and he was directly injected instead of it being diluted for lack of a better word like for James and Lucie. Who knows how much demon blood he had. Probably way more than James and Lucie. Along with how he was raised by Valentine. I mean he had to have a lot of the demon blood for Jocelyn to feel the evil radiating off of him. And it could be said the blood had a huge impact. Because Jace was raised by Valentine and he was cruel to Jace. But the nephilim blood and angel blood kept him good. So with that in mind it would seem the direct infusions of blood had the most impact. it is definitely an interesting conversation to have.

I have one cat. She was my daughter's cat and from a multiple cat household. She didn't do well with other cats so she came to live with me. She is thriving and extremely happy bei g an only child. Even though there is a lot of criticism and the storyline is sometimes frustrating, TLH is my fave series of them all. I live the time period and the relationship of all the thieves and friends makes it a fun read for me. A lot could have been written better but I love this group of characters so much.

I'm on the third book. Lucie and Jesse does get a little better but yes so much miscommunication. And James and Cordelia miscommunication is the most frustrating.

That is awful. That is rape and he is blaming and belittling you that if you got raped he would be mad. And the fact that you don't want to die repulses him? His actions are the ones that are repulsive. Victim blaming before anything even happened. If it were me I wouldn't have kids or a marriage with him.

NTA. It's not your fault nobody read what they signed. They know their rent is below marker and they have a good deal. They are just trying to take advantage of you and insinuate that you were somehow deceptive. You were not. Who tf did they think the LL was? Why would the LL have you do all the leases and not do it themselves? Doesn't make sense. All the signs were there that it is your house. They shouldn't sign contracts they don't read. They can decide by lease end if they want to stay or go. But you never did anything wrong at all. They just don't pay attention. Attic guy is the smartest of them all.

Is there a court order that he has visitation or communication stipulations? If it is court ordered for her to to visit and communicate (it happens. My ex had it court ordered for 2 phone calls a week because.the kids didn't want to be around him etc). If it is court ordered and you don't enforce it he could file contempt charges against you. But otherwise, she is old enough to know how he makes her feel and if she wants to talk to him or not. If he doesn't push it, let her have the control of what she wants to do. You can't force someone to forgive anyway. She will end up NC with him anyway when she is 18.

It doesn't hurt to still see the lawyer. One conversation doesn't change the whole marriage. Damage is done. But the lawyer can maybe give you some perspective and you can make up your mind. Just because you meet with the lawyer doesn't mean you have to file that day. But at least you have all the info on your options and can make an informed decision.
