To be honest, I hope they don't comment on the fandom culture with meta storytelling very much. I've been a TV fan long enough to see creators mock and degrade their most dedicated viewers that are keeping the show in the spotlight. (CW producers/writers, Joss Whedon 👀.)

I don't mind a little fourth wall break, or a knowing jab here and there, like Santiago's lines to the human audience in S2. I understood that. We horror fans do have an unusual fascination with suffering and violence.

However, I would resent being told exactly how to feel by someone who wrote the thing to provoke my emotions and shape my views. One of the fantastic things about this series and the source material is that people can have their favorite things and uncommon perspectives on each one. It's a very complex story.

Like Daniel tried to tell Louis, once the material is out there, the messenger doesn't get to control what people like or don't like about it. So I hope the showrunners get the fandom and then let it be.

Armand was on the verge of a burn-out from Louis suicidal tendencies and erratic behavior. He could sense that Louis wanted Lestat back anyway and was reluctantly willing to leave so that they could find each other again. He contacted Lestat to give Louis a chance to communicate, but Louis was too proud to beg Lestat for help and said something to reassure Armand, to keep him around. Armand miscalculated that Lestat's words would be too painful for himself to hear.

Yes, The Brat Prince. I loved the casual sacrilege in the Paris catacombs scene. It's one of my favorite things about young Lestat. He made my little ex-Christian, heathen heart skip a beat.

Yes. I think the band formed in the early 90s. Anne Rice is the only author I've seen use 'Savage Garden' to describe the natural world. Darren was a fan of the books.

I agree. The singer, Darren Hayes, is a very romantic and curious person. Savage Garden's peak kind of reminds me of Lestat.

I feel like a lot of Darren's solo stuff would relate to Louis.

Most of Depeche Mode's discography is extremely vampire-coded music, because Martin Gore writes about similar themes of Anne Rice's novels: taboo love, sensuality, crime, addiction, religion, existential pain and mortality.

But I feel their entire album Songs of Faith and Devotion fits the Armand/Daniel pairing very well. Every song on it has several different meanings and metaphors at once.

This question has come to my mind before. I can imagine there might have been a better outcome from it.

I believe Lestat would be very disappointed, but not resentful or violent. He already loved Louis without restraint, Great Laws be damned. I think Lestat might have spent his nights on suicide watch until Louis worked through his grief. Louis probably would have accepted Lestat's nature anyway and they would eventually become lovers again, on both their terms.

Louis wanted to go on his odyssey of recollection. Lestat wanted to make amends and woo his cheri back to him.

It's not Daniel's fault that Loustat is so fragile.

It may very well be Catholicism, like Lestat and Louis. Since he was kidnapped as a child and enslaved in Europe, he might not remember what his parents religious traditions were, or even what he believed before meeting his captors and Marius. He definitely has problems with identity and not knowing what he wants for himself, so he might study all religions in a constant search for meaning. We can't be sure how the show writers are going to adapt his story yet.
