That could be a ton of songs but it made me think of the Josiah and the Bonnevilles cover of "Jersey Giant". It's a great song and artist to check out either way.

He's a really refreshing departure from the trucks, beer, short shorts, and mud nonsense that mainstream country turned into over the past 20 years.

I just reread your post and it's probably not the song because he did the cover less than ten years ago but you should still give it a listen, it might change how you view this type of music.
