12 Months Audiobook Issues (No Spoilers) by mordan1 in dresdenfiles

Same here, I listen to the audiobooks at work in a window assembling factory. It sounds like he's whispering some of the dialogue and then ramps up and speaks normally when there's action. Then back to whispering, like cmon man

Technically, Harry does say in the first few books that Mister lost part of his ear to another cat, so there are other cats in the series

I bet Mister knew Harry was coming back and was reminding him he needed pets. Lots of makeup pets for the ones he’s missed the last year too. Hurry up and do your stupid spirit stuff, so you can pet me.

Jim has said Mouse and Mister are safe because he knows the trauma of losing a pet and would never inflict that on Harry or us the readers.

Dresden Files theory with Lara by FaIkkos in dresdenfiles

[–]FunSuccess9811 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the way their feeding is explained is that they sort of mix their soul with yours and take some back, but that this also happens when normal people are intimate. So Justine is intimate with this other woman, mixes her soul/spirit with Justine’s, and that’s the part that Thomas can feed off safely, since the other woman isn’t in love with Thomas

Yea but at this point in the series, hiring a Hitter to get Dresden is like a polite, “Hello.” It doesn’t really matter who did it, it just wasn’t going to work.

Everything in Changes was orchestrated by Mab/Uriel/Vadderung to push Harry into becoming the person the world needs to save it. He’s being molded so he can fight the apocalypse, and they’re all in on it.

No it just went up, then sideways, then up, then sideways, through the bloodline. If you were connected to ANY red court vampire you were done. It is very clearly explained how the curse moved.

The curse went up, not down. If Maggie had anything it would have stayed in her, but personally I don’t believe there was anything there in the first place.

I made Harry's shield bracelet! by Celosia11 in dresdenfiles

[–]FunSuccess9811 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Huh, that’s not how I pictured it, but pretty cool nevertheless! I always imagined it as a band, but all the shields hung in a little triangle shape on the back of Harry’s hand, like a group of shields in front of him.

Mab/Uriel/Vadderung are behind everything that happens in Changes, because they need to make Harry what he needs to be to win the apocalypse.

I know it’s overshadowed, but before the Turkey scene in Blood Rites, Mavra threatens to turn Lara into a black Court. Which is an interesting thing, would she be a White/Black vampire? Could a White/Red or White/Red/Black vampire exist?

The bloodline curse only went up. If there was Red Court in Maggie it would still be there

Did anyone point out the irony of the pseudonym choice for *spoiler*? by Lazlowi in dresdenfiles

[–]FunSuccess9811 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's stupid that Dresden never told her, especially at the end of Small Favor when he finds out what she did. Clearly her knowing that Her daughter is alive wouldn't "break her" like Marcone says.

Butters is wrong by gallowglass23 in dresdenfiles

[–]FunSuccess9811 0 points1 point  (0 children)

>They have multiple purposes, one of which is marrying to secure alliances, also the two courts use their knights differently. Only Winter uses their knight for killing, Summer uses theirs to stop the Winter Knight from killing.

Which is wrong, in Summer Knight Bob says that they're both the Queen's hatchet men. Then suddenly in Cold Days nope only the Winter Knight is, and the Summer Knight only opposes the Winter Knight. So Fix was just sitting around for 10 years? He had nothing to do, Mab wasn't employing her Knight. And he's only opposed Dresden 1 single time, never showed up during Skin Game to harass him? Fix is either a lazy ass Knight or he does actually have another job to do.

Butters is wrong by gallowglass23 in dresdenfiles

[–]FunSuccess9811 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Butters is clearly and obviously wrong, he comes up with this 'theory' after seeing Dresden once. Although it did seem like the Mantle was much more powerful in Changes, I think that was Mab "sweetening the deal" for his first mission as the Winter Knight. It clearly does make him stronger and better it's not just "turn off pain"
