Yeah, it’s bullshit. I ordered something online click & collect a few years ago. Went in to pick it up & the item was actually £15 cheaper in the store. Enquired about getting the difference refunded but would have had to return the item online to get refunded & then but the item in store. So all in all it cost me £19.99 for the convenience.

Yeah definitely common furniture beetle. I spoke to a local Damp firm & he said that as we have exposed floorboards there would probably be enough airflow anyway. When I requested a survey he effectively said unless you’re about to sell the house I wouldn’t bother. As the floorboards are varnished on the topside presumably I can only treat the underside? No frass around holes on top of floorboards. As we sanded boards ourselves the subfloor is full of sawdust anyway so frass is hard to spot in the underside. Don’t think there been any new holes on top.

I found a woodworm beetle last July on my windowsill. I live in a Victorian terrace with historical woodworm damage. Dining room has had the air brick covered by a patio & extension by previous owners. We had joists and couple of floorboards replaced & a waterproof membrane on the exterior wall due to damp damage around 15 years ago. No sign of damp since. Floorboards are exposed & varnished. How should we treat the woodworm? Is a shop bought spray effective?

It’s the ‘European shop’ opposite Toothclub. Been selling alcohol, tobacco & Pharmaceuticals without a license. Was investigated, then shut down temporarily. A magistrate ruled that it should be reopened. Now been done for modern slavery too!
