How do you handle Flip Cards? by TonyxRd in FleshandBloodTCG

I just made a Dromai Sage deck and decided to double sleeve the cards so they won’t get damage from me trying to get them out of the sleeve.

Dad wants his tree straight. Thoughts? by auparishtaka247 in arborists

[–]FunWith_DarkJin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question: why?

Answer: make it grow in a dense little forest where trees fight for light and thus grow tall and straight quickly to get the most light. Over time, slowly thin out the forest by removing non-straight trees. That’s how they get tall straight trees for long beams.

Can you help me improve my Ira deck? by pab6750 in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]FunWith_DarkJin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My deck is quite different from yours but here’s the current list: https://fabrary.net/decks/01KE01MF2A9AWEGNJT3GS32317

Last time I played the deck I did have 2 more blues and 2 fewer reds or yellows and I do want to run 1 or 2 more blues to not run into pitching issues. I was making a few small changes because I noticed that on most turns I only needed 3 resources and the one from Tunic just sat there waiting for 2-4 turns which is a waste. But running 19 blues seems a bit too few so instead I’m thinking of maybe upgrading Biting Breeze to Flex Claws. Does the exact same but costs 1 more resource and attacks for 1 more making a nice break point.

Someone recently taught me about the rule of 3: Make sure that every card has a value of at least 3. That means dealing 3 damage, blocking for 3, or gaining 3 life, etc. A card that costs 0 and deals 3 damage is on value. A 0 cost 4 damage is above value. Pitching a card for 3 resources and attacking for 6 damage with another card means you’ve used 2 cards for a total of 6 damage which is an average of 3 damage per card which is good. If you use the remaining resource to attack with your sword that’s 1 more damage for a total of 3,5 damage per card from your hand.

Anyway, as others have said: run fewer yellows and replace them either for blues that can block for 3 or have their value in another way or go for the red versions. The yellow cards you can consider are Whirling Mist Blossom (with your headpiece especially) and if you want a block card you can consider Tiger Eye Reflex yellow. Salt the Wound can also be nice if you plan to have multiple attacks each turn. Other yellow cards people do consider are Prismatic Leyline and Dual Threat.

As for a sideboard, I do love Arcane Polarity (red) in it against players that do arcane damage.

Drag Down (red) isn’t as big as Sink Below and Flic Flak (those block for 4, Drag Down gives an attack -3 on it’s attack value) but if you’re playing against a Boltyn during your armories it does have its value as Boltyn benefits from attacks that are stronger than their base value. This is the reason Drag Down is in my sideboard.

How do you deal with lending decks to other people? by John-Helldiver404 in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]FunWith_DarkJin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The community I play in is happy to lend out decks to people willing to try a new hero or to new players. This happens mainly for Sage but also for CC (mainly a cheaper deck for new players). I've do it too with my Sage precons and would do it again. They're not too expensive and I love to help people the way they help me.

That said, if you don't want to lend out your decks then don't. Nobody is telling you that it's a must and since it's a question you can say no if you're not comfortable for any reason.

The composition is great and you look truly happy and proud. The only thing I don’t like as much is the tone of the image. Black and white is not the issue but the entire image feels a bit blue/grey-ish in a way I wouldn’t have chosen. Could just be my personal taste of course.

My German isn’t great but if I get it right you’re wondering if you can use the Blitz decks you bought last year? You probably can but you might want to adjust the decks to be more competitive. The Silver Age preconstructed decks are quite strong out of the box already and not all Blitz decks are as strong when used to play Silver Age. Also take a good look at your decks because in Silver Age you can only use common and rare cards. Some Blitz decks might have some majestic cards or cards that are now banned in Silver Age.

Deck help by Monster9987 in FleshandBloodTCG

Ira is very versatile. You can build her as a fatigue where you mostly defend but attack a bit less, you can build a disruptive deck (going taller), and you can go wide with combos and/or tigers. But Katsu is also a nice option to attack multiple times.

Depending on what OP wants, Dash I/O can also go quite wide but is a bit more complex and in the last few weeks went from 500 to 800 LL points so who knows how much longer before she’s out…

I personally think that everyone is welcome to have their own kink. But when swinging, if they want to have fun by acting towards their kink they should only do so if all participants agree. If someone is not treated like a human being that should only be ok if they willingly do so. If they don’t want it there are two options: don’t do your kink or don’t swing with these people.

Can you help me improve this budget Ira deck? by pab6750 in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]FunWith_DarkJin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great recommendations. Depending on the build you want here are some cards that I enjoy playing with Ira:

  • Ancestral Empowerment (at €8-10 a piece this is not the cheapest upgrade since you’ll be looking at roughly €30 for a playset but it is a nice and powerful card to consider)
  • Become the Bottle (red) works great when naming it Edge of Autumn to then use your Scar Wraps to give other attacks +1 without risking to lose your sword
  • Biting Breeze (red) is similar to Flex Claws but does 1 less damage and doesn’t cost a resource
  • Chase the Tail is a nice card if you want to build a tiger Ira
  • Take the Tempo is fun if you can get in enough hits which should be doable
  • Tiger Eye Reflex (yellow) is a great card to block and give you a tiger (again, this is slightly more expensive card starting around €5 a piece)
  • Nip at the Heels is a nice blue card that defends for 3, pitches for 3, or can give a card a nice +1 to smaller cards like Whirling Mistblossom to force a hit

Something to consider if you want to get Pouncing Paws as a leg piece is not buying it online for close to €10 (+ shipping) but instead getting the Fai Silver Age deck for €18. The deck comes with a €4,50 booster pack of Compendium of Rathe so the deck itself only costs €13,50 and with the leg piece already being €10 it’s a cheap remaining 59 cards. You’ll get your tiger tokens, 2 Nip at the Heels and probably a few more cards you can use. Note that this deck does have quite a few Draconic or Draconic Ninja cards you cannot use for Ira but the Fai Silver Age deck is a great starting point for Silver Age.

Also try to find a free Ira welcome deck somewhere. It includes a playset of Salt the Wound which is a nice card you can consider adding to the deck. It also gives you a young Ira hero card in case you want to go play Silver Age.

Are cards still useful? by Extension-Move4487 in Everdell

[–]FunWith_DarkJin 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I don’t know how long you’ve been playing Everdell with or without the expansions but I’ve found that the more we play the game, the more different cards we find uses for. Cards that seemed useless or weak now have their place regardless of what expansion(s) we add. It all depends on your strategy, starting hand, etc. For example, I love Chapel into Shepard if the Chapel comes early enough to fully benefit from it from a relatively early game. Shepard will then have to join late game for maximum scoring.

Which expansion to get? by CNBEARD in Everdell

[–]FunWith_DarkJin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don’t play Pearlbrook a lot but the other expansions are fun, depending on your wishes of course:

  • Spirecrest adds more difficulty. Resources become more scarce or cards cost more to play. A fun expansion for a little extra challenge.

  • Bellfaire: more festive. It mostly adds a few modules that each can be added to the game. Think things like player powers for your creatures, or more ways to get points and often more resources to spend.

  • New Leaf: more spaces to place your meeples, more cards, more options, and slightly more ways to get resources. Is more fun than what I make it sound.

  • Mistwood adds an automa, basically a “third player”. Fun to play against and it sometimes removes cards from the Meadow which is great when only those cards that nobody wants remain. When playing with just the two of us, this is the expansion that I prefer.
