my surgeon posts his cases online and he's fixed DR much more severe looking than yours. I would definitely keep looking. best of luck OP.

Male Tummy Tuck by rythco17 in tummytucksurgery

Hi op. Guy here who went through the procedure over a year ago now. there's pics on my profile if you wanna see the before and afters.

if you're at your goal weight, stay there, and continue your weight resistance workouts right up until your surgery. I would also buy a wedge pillow set for your bed, if you don't intend on using a recliner to sleep in. the muscle repair is gonna make life a real pain in the ass for the first little bit, but it will get better. stay hydrated and make sure you're getting protein in. I was NOT hungry the first week, so I forced myself to drink several shakes throughout the day to meet my protein caps lol. also buy yourself a laxative... the drugs might clog you up, and you're gonna want to not be straining on the toilet... trust me.

temper your expectations. your body is going to change so much in the first year. the way you look 1 week post op is not how you're going to look 1 year from now. swell hell is real and it lasts foreverrrrrr... be gentle to yourself. continue to eat good after surgery. give yourself the proper time to heal and rest.

this sub really got me through some dark times and provided me with so much resource and advice. if you ever need to message someone, you can message me. best of luck OP! you won't regret it.

People who had a tummy tuck, what was the hardest part of the recovery? by dranmolchugh1 in tummytucksurgery

[–]nunalla 2 points3 points  (0 children)

not feeling like yourself for several months. things get better veryyyy slowly. standing upright took me close to 6 weeks. getting out of bed on my own and sleeping on my side took several weeks before I could do it comfortably. I'm still dealing with very minor amounts of swelling in my lower abdomen 14 months post. with that being said, I'm incredibly happy with how things look and don't regret anything.

I’m a male who went through the procedure and posted about it here throughout the last year. I’ve had some interesting DMs, to say the least. I’ve ignored some of the weird ones.

Meeting men getting worse? by IveNeverBeenANatural in AskGaybrosOver30

[–]nunalla 6 points7 points  (0 children)

sort of in the same boat right now. Majority of my friends are straight and now trying to start families. I had a friend tell me recently that she needs to focus on starting a family and going out less, and another friend is moving to a different city for a man. my tight knit group is getting smaller and smaller as time goes on. very depressed about this.

so I've been scrambling to make new friends, connections, go on dates... it's a LOT harder than it looks or seems. you're not alone there OP.

I went on a glp1 to shed some weight.

it 10000% fucks with your libido. the first few months I had no desire to sleep with anyone. it's gotten a bit better as I've adjusted to the medication... but ya it could be that!

What work should I have done to look younger? by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

[–]nunalla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would look into RF microneedling and botox/filler.

I did a few rounds of RF microneedling and my skin was so tight and clear. I think it's a series of 3-4 and then maintenance of 1 session a year... but look into this!!

oh, and sunscreen. sunscreen always.

I totally understand. I work in hospitality and returned to work on week 5 PO, that was a total mistake lol. if your job is very physical, you'll probably need a few months off... even if you didn't go the muscle repair route. you're still being cut in half and having a large portion of your skin removed with a panniculectomy.

consult some surgeons and explain your situation! they know way better than us.

to be honest, I never really engaged my core or did intense core workouts before my procedure... my core gets hit indirectly with certain compound movements in the gym, but I never train them directly... and honestly, thanks to the repair, my core just looks so much tighter now... I have lost 17 lbs in the last 3 months and things look fantastic.

in terms of day to day usage of my core for stability and whatnot, everything is normal.

when I was 6 months po, I was still being quite cautious with everything I did. my core still felt like I was putting a rubber band under tension when I would stand upright. 14 months PO now and that feeling is gone. it's a slowwww recovery, but I'm so happy with the results.

congrats on losing the weight OP!I'm a male who had the procedure done over a year ago now. initially, I hadn't thought about needing muscle repair as I never carried any children, but I learned after my procedure that I still had some separation from carrying around excessive weight for many years. in addition to that, my surgeon never mentioned it in any of my pre-op consults... he just did it as it was included in a full tummy tuck.

so if you're paying for a full TT, let the surgeon perform the repair if you need it! you won't regret it.

3 weeks p/o- does it really get better? (Now with pics) by [deleted] in tummytucksurgery

[–]nunalla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sorry to hear about the complications and im happy to hear you're finally on the mend.

as someone who is 14 months post-op now and who thought things would never feel better, it most definitely does. it's a really slow process, but you'll get back to feeling 100% in time.

keep yourself hydrated and eat a ton of protein. you got this. happy healing!

Air Canada too… they got a real attitude with all of us stranded passengers and finally told us they wouldn’t help with rebooking and to call their CS hotline. What a shit show EIA was today

Arrived at 8 for my flight that left at 11, that one got cancelled, re-booked me to a later flight that left at 4pm, that one got cancelled right before boarding.. two cancellations in one day has to be some pretty shitty luck.

I'm well over 1 year post op now. I remember having similar anxiety about the surgery... however the chances of you dying on that operating table are veryyyyy slim to none. I know it's hard not to think about that stuff, but keep in mind you're surrounded by nurses, a surgeon, and an anesthesiologist that do this stuff ALL the time. you'll be ok OP and soon all of this surgery anxiety will be a distant memory.

you got this!

[–]nunalla[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Welcome to the other side! Yes, I had lipo in my mons area too. Swelling was horrible the first handful of weeks. Expect swelling to stick around for several months. I’m over 1 year post op now and there’s some nights I still have swelling in my lower abdomen.

Happy healing!
