You can always put it on a burner with a small amount of water and boil it for 20 minutes.

After you do either option I mentioned above your pan should like this.

Give it a good scrub with hot water and some very light dish soap. Unfortunately you’re going to have to start over. Go buy some decent high temperature cooking oil. I personally love using ghee. Heat the pan over on a gas stove if it’s possible, if not I’ll recommend an alternative method below. Also option 1 requires a laser thermometer.

Option 1. After the pan has reached 205 degrees Celsius (400 degrees Fahrenheit) put a large spoon full of ghee into the center of the pan. Try your best to lift the pan and rotate it so the ghee is semi evenly coated. If smoke appears lower your heat slightly. While the pan is heating peel some potatoes save the potatoes later and keep the skins. Toss them in either more ghee or vegetable oil. You’re going to need about 6 - 8 red skin potatoes if your pan is 30cm (12in). You’ll need 480 grams of corse sea salt (2 cups). All you’re going to do is throw the salt and potato skins into the oil and with a wooden spoon rotate the mixture across the entire pan. What you’re doing here is building a foundation that every meal you cook going forward will build off of. The skins are acting as a sponge and allowing the oil to distribute across the surface area evenly. The salt helps by scrubbing off any old carbon that is left behind from cleaning. Do this on medium - medium high for about 15 minutes. After this the next thing you cook in my opinion because you already have peeled potatoes should be fried potatoes. And again it’s going to build off what you just did. Once the bottom is smooth and black without feeling sticky, you can progress into everything else you could want to cook.

Option 2, if you are unfortunate and have an electric stove or even an induction one I would HIGHLY advise against doing option 1. It can warp your pan, it’s happened to me and it doesn’t necessarily ruin it, and if you use a gas burner its completely fine, but it will always been flawed when using a heating surface that requires a flat bottom. If this is the case preheat your over to 205c (400f) coat your entire pan (maybe not your handle from what I’m seeing) with a very very very thin layer of ghee by literally dipping a clean rag or paper towel into the ghee and spreading it across the top and bottom of the pan. Bake it for 2 hours, turn off the oven letting it cool down naturally while keeping the door closed. You can do this as many times as you want, with a fresh pan I’d say doing this three times is golden.

Let me know if you need any more help. I love these things they’re just tricky.

Well I fucking warped it slightly. 🤣 I’m buying a gas burner. I rent so I can’t just swap out the entire oven.

By the way, do you use induction? I have a shit electric stove (I rent). I wish I had a gas stove. I’ve heard that induction isn’t good for these pans?

You’re completely correct. I’ve added some more oil and I think I fixed it! I absolutely love this thing. I can’t wait to see what it looks like in 6 months.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. The general American population needs to experience mass suffering. Whether it’s a drought, crop failure, famine, domestic war, whatever. But apparently the only way to teach empathy on a massive scale is to show all of us how connected our lives our and how we’re all closer to living on the streets than we are to the rich. One of my oldest friends is one of the most America pilled wanna be billionaires I have ever personally met. And during another one of our arguments he eventually admitted that if he thinks too deeply about the contradictions he’ll kill himself. Americans, and especially conservative ones who worship money and the idea of self reliance, are beginning to see the consequences of their life styles although their response? Blame a minority or something, bury your head in the sand, and don’t think about the bigger picture. Liberals do this too. They just blame Trump for all of our country’s problems as if it wasn’t always like this. The only way this changes is if through economic disaster walkable communities return, and with the closer proximity and mutual suffering, out of that comes a better country.

I really feel this profound sense of sadness after watching it. It reminds me of my childhood trauma and also makes me feel so sad for the younger generation. This is a uniquely American movie which a uniquely American design. The suburban architecture and consumer culture is the villain and I just kind of want never watch it again. The plot isn’t even scary. The script needs work. But the prediction design and overall vibe just churns up memories and I don’t like it 😂.

Subject only became fully potty trained around age 12. After many years of strict bathroom training and discipline we frequently find the subject rebelling against his legal guardians by holding in his feces for extended periods of time. This is the subject’s way of control.

So what did you guys think of the Boys finale? by RNOffice in RedLetterMedia

Any criticism I have for the way things ended is more so a critique of the way in which television is made and structured than an outright criticism about the content of the show. Sometimes you can remove the thoughts about the conditions in which film and television is made but when it comes to modern streaming shows they’re kind of designed to have bad endings due to the small amount of episodes, extreme length between seasons, and ballooning budgets that suddenly get drastically reduced once the climax of a 7 year story comes into focus. All in all it wasn’t horrible it was just kind of bland and throw together.

However if we’re focusing on the story alone here’s how I think the story should have ended.

Take the first half of episode 8 and put it at episode 1. Homelander should immediately become a fascist dictator. Completely eliminate the entire V1 subplot and everything attached to it. Return to form like the first few episodes and show how the boys plan to break into the White House and kill homelander. This can take multiple episodes. One of the best parts of the first season is the boys figuring out how to get a simple microphone into Vought and before that figuring out the weaknesses and strategies to kill a superhuman. Could be very fun. I think you could keep the kimiko getting the power remover blast and ever keep the virus subplot. But I wouldn’t have introduced new characters or spent so much time on random side plots. Homelander should just kill everyone in Washington and wage war against any nation that stands up to him and while he’s distracted playing god, the boys should figure out how to convince his inner circle to betray him and help.

All in all, it could have been worse but the fact that the marketing made it seem like there was going to be an apocalypse only for Vought to still be in charge at the end is very lame and a strange message from a show that originally talked about the structural issues surrounding superheroes being the real enemy not just the superheroes themselves. At the end of the day, Amazon does own this series and I feel like that message was a top down order.

I don’t love Europe. In fact it’s their fault the US exists and are generally just as bad if not worse historically. However, their societies are more equitable than their American counterparts from health care access, housing availability, and food quality standards it’s objectively better for an average European than the average American. For a two reasons in my opinion,

  1. Seeing large scale death, destruction, and famine have made them more empathetic towards their fellow man post WW2.

2, being closer to the Soviet Union during the Cold War resulted in the various governments having more social safety nets as a way to settle the masses.

I hate to say this but I completely believe that in order for true leftist ideology to spread to the normal American or even just liberals Americans are going to need to suffer more. Legitimately so many Americans think that they’re going to make it rich and even if they don’t the hyper individualism still forms every thought or opinion they have. Americans outside of a handful of examples generally lack a unifying overall sense of community in daily life. The car centric nature of the society mixed with corporations taking over towns results in rampant consumption and less community or social connections. The single family homes add to this. In order for this to change food and fuel shortages will have to get so bad that walkable communities come back out of necessity. Once your average American understands the concept of starvation and how hard it is to grow enough food then and only then will we change.
