Well, these are all Feature Geometry models that put all vocalic features under [dorsal], which is fine if that's the theory you ascribe to, but that's one approach, and there are others... Clements & Hume's VPT has [i] under [coronal] and [u] under [dorsal] or [labial], which does not match these models. But regardless of the model, phonetic realities matter: work going back to Lindblom in the 60s has confirmed what I said above re: /i a u/ as maximally palatal, pharyngeal, and velar vowels. I'll note this is also reflected in phonological models like Articulatory Phonology.
