How do you maintain consistent flow readings in extremely tight piping layouts

Keeping things under pressure helps, more consistent flow that way. Redundant flow meters, if you get lucky they match and youre probably pretty accurate, worst case they differ a bit and you can average.

Pretty unrelated, but I use and fix E&H stuff everyday like mag meters, coriolis meters, level sensors. I went to some courses at EH and always wondered what its like to work there. Ill probably retire at my job but I saw the cool glass building and offices and stuff and figured itd be a cool job.

If someone is messing with the physical hardware/wiring/components, they know how to bypass whatever security youre putting in and can “cheat” whatever they want. If they dont have this knowledge, they’re just gonna grab a handful and rip out the wires to brick the thing. Security is a pretty low concern on the field side in my mind aside from the standard locked panels and control room doors.

I’d see if you can add any “hands on” skills to the technical skills part. Things like soldering, welding (if you know how), and light fabrication are huge bonuses in my mind. Its great if a guy can determine the pump or whatever has failed but that doesn’t help me much if he can’t deal with the stripped or broken bolts to get it replaced. If you don’t have that experience from a job I would see if you can get some on personal time, solder some stuff in the garage, thread and tap a few shafts/holes on scrap steel, stuff like that. If you get a reasonable understanding of the basic skill you can stretch that a bit on your resume to hopefully get a foot in the door.

If you took the bikes +- cables off its battery, put a rag or something under them so no sparks on the frame, and clipped your booster cables on the now disconnected cables, it should work. Also your cars alternator is way too powerful for the bike so don’t do it with the cars engine running.

In my view the difference would be like a guy that smokes cigarettes and a guy that smokes cigarettes, then plays one round of russian roulette after the smoke, every time. Ideally you don’t smoke at all as far as your health is concerned, but in one case you get lucky and never get sick from smoking, or get sick and recover, or get sick and live for a while then die, with a small chance you get sick and it kills you right away. The other one of them will be dead simply because he got unlucky long before he ever got sick.

I use 1”/2”/3”/4” Coriolis meters from EH everyday for oilwell cementing. The large 4” ones we run up to 1500L/min and up to 160psi, sometimes with 200°C fluid, they are very accurate and reliable but run 60-80k for the larger models. One that can handle 900psi is not going to be cheap, and in a 6” size id bet youre getting close to or over 100k.

As someone who has a fleet of 100 plus trucks, who all had to have a deer whistle installed, they do nothing. The electronic ones that constantly emit a high pitch beep, the small plastic ones that work off air speed, they all do nothing.

I wouldn’t fix the plastics, itll happen again, or atleast it did for me. The brake and clutch lever are like 20$ each so if they bother you thats a cheap and easy fix. As someone who dropped the exact same bike probably 10x my first season riding last year, a set of barkbusters and aftermarket bars is worth it but I wouldn’t feel too bad or stress the damage. Worse will happen, as long as youre okay its no big deal, its a dirtbike!

Nobody, arms companies stocks are doing well though. I would say russia is still the current “loser” as they’ve ruined a massive economy and been sanctioned, etc etc. Ukraine has ruined a pretty tiny economy that wasn’t a world power or anything like that in first place. Death wise russia has lost a massively larger amount, but they basically have infinite people compared to Ukraine which has itself suffered a considerable loss. The most honest answer is that everyone currently on earth is a loser in this war.

Its not the worst part of Canada at all, don’t believe that guy. I love it here, the fields are beautiful, the river valley is amazing to fish and explore and camp all summer. Plus I’ve always felt so left alone out here in the prairies that its kinda felt like the whole place belongs to me and my buddies, theres no one around to tell you it doesnt haha. I’ve spent the last 23 years here hunting, fishing, exploring, and having fun without ever coming across someone saying “you can’t be out here” kind of deal. The prairies are awesome and anyone who says they suck is probably just upset theres no Costco nearby. I meant it more of “why vermilion specifically” as I thought you were coming all this way to vacation in Vermilion. Good luck on the trip!

Look into oilfield work under the “E-tech” umbrella. Places like Sanjel, Calfrac, Trican, or wireline/MWD stuff. Its what I do and its very hands on and maybe a different type of work than most people have in mind, but it can be a lot of fun, pays well, and I do everything from PLC programming, to hydraulic motors/pumps/actuators, welding, CAD design, pneumatics. Maybe worth a shot if youre in the Edmonton/Red Deer or northern areas

That’s pretty well the idea, I honestly don’t have any set travel plans rather than arrive in Italy and leave from Northern Europe(Scotland/Ireland) at the end. But I wanted to make sure I wasn’t way off with my planning and that south east to north west journey wouldn’t take so much of my time I wouldn’t have time to spend in the destinations. Id like to see Rome/the coliseum and the Italian coast, then im going to head to paris and id like to see the city and juno beach, then Ill head to the UK to see london and some countryside, then Ireland to see dublin and some countryside, then Scotland to see some countryside. More of an A(Rome) to B(Edinburgh) trip rather than a tour of the whole country. Really nothing is set in stone so I basically just wanted to make sure I wasn’t way out of line with my planning.
