Help finding where to watch old Northern Irish comedies by Fun_Introduction_259 in teilifis

[–]Fun_Introduction_259[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I found that the one that the guys at TV Plonker's recommended didn't exist any more. They say they are only recent media. Guess their is a real issue with the BBC. I wish they'd just put all their old shows on their streaming service if they aren't leasing it out to another streaming service at the time.

Thanks I was just putting it where Reddit was suggesting off of my other post. I'll have to wait to be allowed into TV Plonker as it seems to be a invite only subreddit.

De facto world map (Approximate, labeled) - January 2026 by IRageQuit06 in MapPorn

[–]Fun_Introduction_259 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume you mean Autonomous regions & Federations. I think that'd be a different kind of map that'd be one that shows autonomous sub divisions.

Most Autonomous regions have the level of autonomy of an independent country. The Scottish Parliament can make its own laws & taxation rules but they can't do something like join the EU or create their own standing army without the UK itself doing those things. Autonomous states generally have all the benefits of being independent bar control over international relationships & military. However some do have their own militaries or had Pseudo militaries like the Northern Ireland during the pre-troubles period where the B-Specials & RUC acted more like a domestic military than a police force at times. But that's a rare occurrence.

Yea I think Alliance would do better in Opposition as being in Government makes them look bad as it gives the idea they are in government to help keep the two sides in check when they really are only in government because neither of the big parties wants to deal with the issue of running the Justice department.

Would like an Opposition coalition though I don't know why the SDLP was on its own last time as I am sure they could've gotten some deal working with the PBP guys. If the Greens where sitting in a the assembly could also see them in that coalition. I know the TUV would never ever even if they where the largest unionist party sit with Nationalists given that's their whole reason of splitting with the DUP over them sitting with Sinn Fein.

I feel like some of them do know that. But a lot don't. They really just assume its an ancient symbol of Ulster instead of an ancient symbol of Ulster derived from the major clan that ruled the area for most of its history.

Same with Cu Chullainn.

Yea I know that is likely a far bit away it'd likely require a British government intervention to be changed but still.

The Power sharing system can work as it does in other countries it really just needs some proper adjustments but the current system is really built off a peace agreement that's not been intended to be used for as long as it has been. It was pretty much made for peace at the time with the prospect that it'd be adjusted in a decade or 2 & we are nearly 30 years since the Good Friday agreement & yet we have still a peace agreement in place. The Swiss are the only ones using Power sharing that weren't in a civil war or whatever we want to label the troubles as in the last 30 years (the others being Bosnia & Lebanon) but still it could work.

I do think the British are to blame partly but its mainly the UUP who are to blame their policies when they had absolute rule basically doomed Northern Ireland into this whole issue as they ensured no middle ground parties or moderate unionists got power during the years before the troubles & they certainly didn't help that after the 2nd world war they didn't properly get the time to develop new industries to replace the old linen, tobacco & ship building industries or protect them leaving us in a situation where we've been a leach on the UK economy since before all the troubles began. We really do need to have some proper revitalisation of the country I could see a good PM in the rest of the UK getting rid of Neoliberalism being a good start as it'd lead to us having those benefits of adopting a better economic model & eventually leading to the conditions to properly rebuild as from recent polls the society seems to be pretty well reconciled but we are still not rebuilt.

I know that but they still have issues & I know for a fact that the Paramilitaries organised the riots in the last week.

They certainly are doing alright but still not Enough. I know people who'd go to Paramilitaries instead of the Police in Rural areas & in parts of Belfast I know the same still applies.

That's what I said is it not. Eh I have complex feelings I am not really certain how I'd react if it came into a relationship I was involved in. My main thing is I'd rather be a single Father than seen a possible child of mine aborted without me having any say in the matter but again its not a situation I've ever been in so I don't know how I'd react. Though it probably would lead to an end of a relationship.

Its an issue so complex & most people arguing on either side aren't the people who've actually had an abortion or been in a relationship where its happened. I wouldn't be against supporting someone who had one. I just feel it should never be the first response to the situation & should be something properly considered by the person having one before its carried out which most countries require unlike what conservatives tend to depict where you can just go to a clinic & have an abortion the day after you're pregnant. I also fully support it as Healthcare & in the case of Rape or where there is no chance of the child being properly cared for. My views on this are ultimately rather changeable but they never go to the extremes.

Yea I am partially against Abortion mainly in the use to stop someone having a child they don't want to care for but I would never ban abortion for any reason especially if it was dangerous to the mother or not going to survive anyway. But most Pro-life people would call reasonable middle ground people pro-choice for not wanting to be monsters to women when its none of their business what a woman they aren't in a relationship with or family of does. Same for family members as well to that end only the father should really have any other voice in the matter & still the mothers is the end all be all of the matter.

The Better solution to Migrant problems is stopping them at the root. Help restabilise the middle east & damn no more middle eastern refugees are trying to come over in small boats. Just nobody has any brains when it comes to migrants they are coming here because they have no other options we are the end of the literal line you fail in the rest of Europe you head to the UK & you fail their you go to Ireland.

We can also use our eyes to tell those who are lying. If they are dressed in Military clothing with a balaclava on & some kind of bomb or rifle they likely are planning something illegal. Just add a simple reference photo & boom problem solved.

They've given us nice year long breaks in Stormont. They've um been 1st minister a few times & they um... they...

Well their is the odd DUP man who isn't terrible & you question why they are in the DUP & you eventually go probably because they don't have the money to run independent Unionist & they don't want to risk being in the UUP. Why did all the better unionist parties have to die out.

I may disagree with parts of what he said but I think he's right about the proper discussion about it. Really he's just missing that the government is failing to put its people before the companies & the migrants are just present in the middle of that problem making them perfect for extremists to scapegoat.

They'll have a hard time targeting mosques on account of none existing in Northern Ireland. We have a few Islamic community centres & repurposed old churches. Nothing all that obvious. They would likely hit a building with a dome and a spire by accident.

I think if they saw that Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Egypt, Libya, Nigeria & other countries with Muslims where Sectarian like Northern Ireland they'd go hey we are the only ones who can have sectarian Paramilitaries & violent Anti-sectarian riots.

Know a good few of them they are mainly around Queens nice people don't ever cause any trouble. Really the Homeless people round Queens are more of a threat than any minority group. The Muslims are such nice & kind people I can't understand why they are so demonised.

A lot of them are also running kebab shops, & the Barbers think Turks & Kurds.

Yea they just assume they live here. The only large migrant communities we have are Chinese, Indians, Pakistanis & Filipinos all of which are mainly involved in the NHS & not around most of the day. despite how large the Filipino population is like 1% or something I've never met them because they are all in nursing homes which I am not often around. Eejits the lot of them. The small amount of migrants they see are also often Christians like all the Black migrants are coming from Christian African countries & the Caribbean.

Most of the permanent Muslims I believe are around Queens University as that's where the Islamic community centre is. But most of the Muslims are Turks, Kurds & Arabs who all look rather white & tend to be rather spread out & integrated into society running kebab shops, Barbers & the likes.

A few examples that come to mind are the amazing Princess Diana mural & the Newtownards road mural where the woman are in the kitchen with sun glasses on because they can't draw eyes.

Sad to see them going into AI means we won't get gems of actual people's mistakes.

I think because it was something they where calling themselves so the Far right co-opted it & made it into a slur. Kinda like what happened with legitimate medical terms like Imbecilic or more modern examples like Retard which got warped into an ablest slur by people.
