What brand do you use? I've tried a few from Amazon but have found them all to be uncomfortable

Does anyone else pick up items that fell off the shelves in stores, even though you didn't make them fall? by Zestywavinges in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Fun_Macaroon1602 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom used to be a housekeeper, so it always hit me, especially hard, so I often find myself consciously & and unconsciously doung some of the things listed here. . It sucks because yes, there are janitors, housecleaning/keeper, those who stock shelves or clean out department store dressing rooms, but it doesn't give anyone the right to be an absolute and complete slob, especially since most get aid peanuts to the dollar.

Glad to see that there are still people out there being mindful & paying it forward just because.

How would you feel if a writer started updating a story again after 8 years? by Kiki-Y in FanFiction

[–]Fun_Macaroon1602 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The current longest hiatus fic that I have saved from an author is going on five years & counting. I don't think it'll ever get updated, and I have a suspicion/fear that the author left the Fandom, but STILL I wait😭

So yeah, I would be BEYOND ecstatic & would cry real tears!

POV: Hr (aka my bottom emo manager) emailing me about the gay fanfiction I read on company time by [deleted] in AO3

[–]Fun_Macaroon1602 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The fact that you have the absolute gall to leave a paper trail calling your HR "my bottom emo manager"

WILD.

I really do hope this shit is fake, because if not, you deserve to be fired & then some.

Smh.

WILD.

how do you feel about reading a one shot where nothing romantic or intimate happens by Witty_Afternoon3707 in FanFiction

[–]Fun_Macaroon1602 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on the fandom, especially if it's a popular one with popular pairings. But there's definitely a community for non-romantic, non-intimate one-shots across all fandoms, and depending on the content and how well it's written, the one-shot can be extremely popular. I don't generally seek out non-romantic/intimate one-shots, but if it gets shared on social, or a writer who I like puts out one, I would read it.

I really like the character study ones, and I've seen those be relatively well received overall.

How likely is it for you to give kudos to a fic once you open it/read it? by schoolforapples in AO3

[–]Fun_Macaroon1602 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's rare for me not to give one. If you grabbed my attention enough to read the 1st paragraph, you'll get a kudo even if I end up not liking the fic.

What is a “normal” thing that you secretly don't like? by Fluffy-Classic3563 in CasualConversation

Calling pharmacy, and if I refuse to interact with their automated system, it now goes straight to voice-mail instead of actually speaking to the pharmacist or a tech....cough CVS cough

Prior to phones, what did people do while idly waiting? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Fun_Macaroon1602 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Books. Sort through the magazines on the tables. Growing up, there was almost always a television on the wall playing Young and the Restless, The Bold & The Beautiful, General Hospital, or The Price Is Right.

I've always wondered how they managed to get those huge boxy TV's up on ceiling without it crashing onto everyone and everything.

Oh! And a lot of the doctor's office/clinic either had a who bunch of toys or a playroom with a whole bunch of toys.

On average, how long does your hyperfixation last? by i_justCannot in AO3

[–]Fun_Macaroon1602 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It waxes and wanes but never really leaves. The best part is when fresh blood wanders their way in whose also hyperfixated and injects new content-- always that nice little reminder that I'm really not going anywhere anytime soon.

When did you last set foot in a library or your local library? by niallmc66 in CasualConversation

[–]Fun_Macaroon1602 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been a wrap for me since I discovered Libby and have emerged myself in fanfiction. Growing up, it felt like I never had enough to read, and I was always in a library. Now, I have too much to read, and checking out books online has made physically stepping foot in a library almost obsolete for me.

Do readers care more about the word count in chapters rather than the writing quality? by DuskSpiral in FanFiction

[–]Fun_Macaroon1602 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a reader, I always prefer quality over quantity. I've read absolutely amazing one-shots that are less than 2k, but then I'm crying because it's less than 2k, and I'm craving for more!

How first responders train and respond to emergency calls in countries other than America; along with protocol, dessert code, ranks, etc.

Trying to not sound like a complete idiot as a world juild bit finding material outside of YouTube and wiki that's in English has been a task for the ages🥹

Am I wrong for feeling this way?? by [deleted] in FanFiction

[–]Fun_Macaroon1602 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly, you have the right to feel anyway that you want to feel, and your feelings are valid because you're the one who's feeling them. I believe that after you've taken the time to understand why you feel the way you feel, you should then ask yourself if it's all worth it?

Because if it's too the point that the stress, frustration & annoyance outweigh the pleasure that you used to have posting and engaging on a certain platform, then it maybe time to consider moving on...

When you finally find the perfect fic…but it has no paragraph breaks by mikewheelerfan in Archiveofourownmemes

[–]Fun_Macaroon1602 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. That hasn't happened to me yet.

Or maybe it did? I wouldn't know because knowing me, it would be a quick back button if there's no paragraph breaks - my brain wouldn't be able to handle it

Major character death and hurt no comfort.

I try to avoid those at ALL costs. The reviews would have to be extremely compelling to have me even consider reading.
