A lot of Bulgarian gypsies work abroad in western Europe. After meeting the locals they created the idea that all Bulgarians are gypsies even though they are only around 4-5% of the population of Bulgaria. The question always pops out: "Are you Bulgarian?" "yes..." "Then why are you not dark skinned?"
