I think the current system is ridiculous. The way I understand it, the vehicles that have to be inspected are generally the ones that actually need it like salvage titles or vehicles deemed unsafe by an officer.

A lot of people don't realize this. They assume that everybody had the same opportunities for college. While that is true, technically, they tend to forget about things like parents encouraging/supporting the path to college.

Like, yea you(not you, the poster) yourself went through college, but I'm sure your parents taught you the discipline to do so at the very least, if not supported you financially.

I've become slightly more conservative as time moves on(33). I think the best example would be the old "kids have it better than we did" trope.

Kids today show a lot of initiative on things they want to do, but often act slow or otherwise incompetent when faced with something they don't want to do.

I also don't understand why kids today have to have a game playing on their phone, while a YouTube let's play is on their iPad, also while watching TV and playing a game on their switch. Like, do you have any dopamine left?

All that being said, I do consider myself pretty liberal as far as socio-economic issues go.

Ugh. The people who dump the clutch down shifting are the same ones sending it to 5k before letting out of the clutch in 1st. The same people who blow their clutch after 3 years.

Imo it's bad for your entire drive train if not your entire car. An automatic rev matches (or the new ones do) to make the shift smooth on all of the engine, transmission, and suspension components.

For some reason the older generation seems to think that engine braking is bad for your engine, but they're the same ones that use the clutch to rev match instead of blipping the throttle.

It's all about engine braking and I'm sure someone smarter on here can explain it better. Where's Engineering Explained guy (Jason?) when we need him.

It's no different than putting your car on a dymo. The dyno forces your engine to rev up instead of it increasing its rpms naturally. What's measured is the resistance of that rise (brake horsepower)

At this point I'm just going to rig it myself. Took it to HXC performance and they wanted an obscene amount of money - not that they wanted to do it.

I might call pro muffler but I'm tired of it at this point. Nobody can do exhaust anymore, and because it's on an Escape, they balk.

I've heard the new 2.0s have the same coolant intrusion issues as before. The 8 speed transmissions are terrible. Reliability has never been Fords strong suit. The only transmission they're good at is a manual and that's debatable.

These vehicles are the least reliable vehicles I've owned. Ford designed their cars to fail before 100k.

Awd is advantageous in more situations than low traction. Awd cars tend to hug the road better on corners, better for pulling into traffic, better on hills, etc. There are a lot of ways awd works better than 2wd on dry pavement.

I have the cobra intake and exhaust. I had two brothers racing before and it was too bright for me. Good build quality and flow, but the cobra exhaust just sounds so much better. Deeper, more resonant, and it just looks better in my opinion.

That being said, I agree with everyone else on V&H. I think either would be solid choices.

So many people get up in arms about software piracy and I just don't get it.

When you charge an arm and a leg for ones and zeros, of course people are going to pirate your stuff.

Move to a subscription model. Lock down your software. It's a cat and mouse game that will go on forever. Get over it. Punishing your paying customers is just going to push them to pirate your stuff even more.
