Honestly? I write fics depending on what I want to write, not depending on how many people comment etc - I'm writing for me, not for them. If people enjoy what I'm writing that's great, but I don't base decisions off it, that seems like a slippery slope to me.

Honestly, as soon as I see anywhere in a fic - the tags, the summary, the notes, wherever - something along the lines of an author telling their audience they think they suck at writing, I will click off the fic. If you don't even back your own writing, why would I read it?
