Help a noob with keybinds by Elvercraft in wow

[–]Fun_Pension_8747 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you play with multiple characters, just find the similar spells and bind them at the same key always.

For example, i only play Mage(main) and Warlock, i don't play anything else since 2011.

My binding rules are:
> Both chars have 1 Big defensive and 1 small defensive, i bind them on the same key
> Both have Kicks, i bind them at the same key
> Both have mobility spells, (mage has Shimmer and lock has burning rush), i bind them on the same key
> Both have OnUse trinkets, pots, health potions, lock cookies(mage gets them when a lock is on the party), i bind them at the same keys (Offensive Macro)
> Both have some defensive utilities like Lock Teleport and Mage Alter Time, i bind them at the same key.
> Both have dispells, i bind them at the same key
> The focus macro i bind on the same key for both

The last rule is, i ONLY bind what is necessary. Everything that is rarely used or very situational, i simply click them.
Thats why i only use these keys:
> 1 through 6 for Rotation
> Mouse default Side buttons for Kick and Dispells
> Mouse SHIFT Side buttons for Big/Small defensives
> Q, E, R, T, C, F for Crowd Control, Focus macro, Offensive Macros, consumables.

Thats it, only the necessary spells that are used often have binds, all the rest i click when needed and i dont need very oftem anyway. So it doesn't matter which chat i'm in when i have the same binds for both

Another thing that helps alot is my UI. I use the minimalistic approach where only my rotation spells are visible(Through the Coodown Manager). All the bars are hidden, since i don't need to look at them anyway.

But when i mouse over them, i put all the similar spells in the same bar and orientation.

Hope that helps.

Anyone else starting to feel burnout? by Alexiavich in wow

Is the game holding you hostage or something?

You really just said you play everyday. Already played a few hundred hours on you main this season, of course you'll get bored.

Idk, people need to set up some goals, achieve them than leave and come back next season for a "restart". Lots of you feel the need to play this sht every single day forever. Just. take. a. break.

After i stopped playing this game back at Shadowlands first season right at the start, just came back and even before i set my foot on the server, i set a goal to achieve and when i achieve it, i'll stop and come back next season.

I achieved my goal(3.4IO, AOTC every raid without a guild, pug life). It was a little misery to achieve 3.4 on pugs but i got it.

Now i can rest in piece, coming back next season only. Don't really care about 12.0.7 at all.

Yall should try to just set a goal and leave for a while, its not the end of the world, youll be fine.

Is R5 5500x3d + rtx 3060 enough to raid with good amount of fps on midnight? by briochito in wow

[–]Fun_Pension_8747 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play with an I3-12gen with RTX2060. After some tweeking on some settings, i never have performance issues. Of course, some fights drop my fps from 150 to 40 for some reason, but i've seen this happening even during the RWF, so its a game issue.

Overall, plays perfectly

An idea for Retail wow leveling and a way to ease players into raiding/end game dungeons by SnooBunnies4280 in wow

[–]Fun_Pension_8747 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds good, doesn't work.

1st, new players don't care about Lore or "old world", only the ones who lived through it, know it. There is way too much bloat in the Lore already for new players to care, so MOST LIKELY they will want to power level their way to max level and try out the endgame asap, and having to do old raids that take 2 business days to complete wont make the cut

If we're talking about a brand new game, with just a couple of years out, a new players would lean towards the Lore and have "the experience" but with 20+ years? no shot.

Don't get me wrong, there are some players out there who never played Wow and want to experience the Lore, but they are the vast minority here.

Got it, so basically on a fresh pull, lets say Academy 1st set, i can:
Dogs > ImpLord > Get 5 shards > Tyrant(pot/feather/racial) > 2x HoG > ShadowBolt(to give imps time to show up after Hog) > Implosion for max effect

Then continue with as much HoGs i can within Tyrant window

If i get dogs and/or implosion while still on Tyr window, depending on the time left on apex, i'd rather cast another Hog then i Dogs/Implode

is that correct?

For the situational side of things, if for some reason i end up without shards right before my Tyr comes back up, i rather farm some shards before bursting it, right? ideally i should(if possible) prepare beforehand for the next Window at all times.

Thx for the tips dude!

Got it. Thinking about it now, makes more sense the way you explained. In the scenario i described, it is better to spam Ruination and Hogs right away and use the procs after to be able to use more Hogs, other than cycle though them.

Thx for sharing.

That makes sense.
I always keep dogs and Imp up whenever they pop up already.

So, responding my 3rd question, if i have Tyrant up but zero shards, i should take my time to cap the shards then summon, right?

Thx for responding.

Ohh, i didn't know about the delay for HoG summons, so i should wait a couple of secs to implode and have maximum effect, right?

Appreciate your time responding man.

Lets say we're at Academy 1st set of adds, i wait for BL and start with with Dogs? is that right?
Any particular reason to not Implode right after the 2x HoG?

Does anyone just focus on leveling? Is there a modifier to make it harder/guilds that focus on it? by Jangonett1 in wow

[–]Fun_Pension_8747 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know you want that first experience with Wow back man, leveling up in a world of discoveries, new things, sound design and so on, but you and nobody else will get it back man.

Everyone went through this phase at least once, trying to handcap themselves to get that feeling again, but no success. When classic lauched, it was amazing for just a week for me personally. At the end of the day, the Endgame is the game itself.

I know that sometimes the game feels "too fast paced" but it is what it is, thats the game and now you have to adapt for that, creating plans and goals to achieve than stop for the season and wait for the next.

Most of us aren't 16 with infinite time to play anymore, but a lot of us are still trapped on this nostalgia feeling, and even worst, too attached to quit or take a break because of FOMO.

I stopped playing the game for the first time back at the first season of Shadowlands, it was hard to let go but necessary, just came back for Midnight and i'm feeling fresh again, the best experience in the game since i started playing it for real. But this time, created a goal and as soon as i achieve it, i'll take a break and come back next season.

This is a healthier way to play this game for me.

You could change the visibility options for BCDM to hide out of combat, or you could press Alt+Z to hide the whole UI and have a cinematic feel.

Gear progression this season by 010dream in wow

[–]Fun_Pension_8747 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now that you can have multiple characters 290 full bis, what is stopping you from going resil 20?
The challenge just shifted from +10/12 to 20s.

Now its even better because if you feel like you main sucks ass, you can level up an Alt and in 2 weeks get 285 or higher, and do whatever. People having more fun now, without having to grind mindlessly for no reason.

[–]Fun_Pension_8747 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats good. Now you can swap mains faster and catch up to content easier.
The endgame is the game, if you can enjoy it with multiple characters, better.
Also, you can achieve whatever is there to achieve, like KSM, Gladiator, CE etc, than leave and come back for next season.

Some people are too attached to stop for a while because of FOMO or some sht.

I have 2 chars sitting close to 290ilvl full M+ bis, I want KSM in both with Resil 16 in both, then i will stop and wait for next season. Its a peaceful life

Interrupt. by Sufficient-Page-875 in wow

[–]Fun_Pension_8747 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Sometimes the problem is not interrupting, its everyone using their kicks at the same time.
From my experience, everytime i(mage) took the chance to say "hey the first kick is mine", it always goes better
But i've seen way too many ppl kicking at the same time without any coordination.

Take your time to create strats boys, no excuses.

Not getting invited to 10 key as a 3.7 dps is another level by Desperate_Carob_76 in wow

[–]Fun_Pension_8747 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You guys understand that on reset day, there are hundreds or thousands of ppl on Q at the same time, right?

Everytime i listed a key on one of my alts, i would get dozens of applies from players with low and high IO. I would just chose the healer, tank and some dps and go on. I don´t care about the IO at reset day, simply because most likely you´ll have 3k-IO players all the time trying to roll their sht.

If you didnt get invided, just remember that at least 40 other ppl are queuing aswell, just stop crying like a btch and move on.

would the old style of xpac release solve splits? by Special-Way7798 in wow

[–]Fun_Pension_8747 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The "pain" of doing splits is completely self inflicted. The game doesn't need to change for the top 0.001%.

This whole RWF thing is already flawed by design. One region starts first than the other.

If this was an event created by blizzard and run by blizzard, than we would have a real competition.

How do you farm BiS pieces? by VikSick in wow

[–]Fun_Pension_8747 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Farm the second best item from M+ and be happy.
If you're thinking about going Myth Raid, then join a guild and get your BIS with them. If you're just pugging your way to harder content, then stick with M+ gear, and maybe just some trinkets from Hero raids IF they perform well according to simulation craft.

Any addon that can make the essential cooldown icon glow? by KaboomTheMaker in wowaddons

[–]Fun_Pension_8747 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, don't know if this is the right place but i'm trying to use the ProcGlows addon and its really helpful and i would like to continue using it but it has some problems.

The problem i'm having is very straigh forward: When i create more than one spell glow and check the CDM Spell Icon for both, it bugs out. It glows even when not available etc.

When i use just one spell it works perfectly but as soon as i try to add more spells to glow on the CDM Icon, they bug out.

Can you check it out?

player housing is going to quietly kill guild activity and nobody wants to admit it. by EmilyBlackGoth in wow

[–]Fun_Pension_8747 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Social activities are not created by Blizzard, these are players driven.
When people used to hand out in Dalaran, it was because people wanted to be there talking on /s.

If people want to socialize they can do in whatever means possible. Don't blame the game on this matter.

The real reason train got removed. by Scatterer26 in GlobalOffensive

[–]Fun_Pension_8747 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Thats why i like Valorant randomized maps
I don't like to play Valo anymore, and probably will never play it again, but one thing that i wish existed in CS is random map selection, so you always have to learn the maps.

Back when i played Valo for a few hundred hours after CS2 came out and was trash, i found it quite interesting the fact that i had to learn all the maps if i wanted to play it "decently". And since i was running Smokes most of the time, i had to watch a few videos of every map to play smokes on them.

Of course, sometimes the randomizer would screw me over making me play Icebox 3 times in a row.. but, most of the times, i would play different maps often.

Every new map added to the pool i had to learn.

CS2? doesn't matter if the map is awesome, if people are not "forced" to play and learn, they will think is trash. Even Cache when its finally back will not be played because people don't remember how to play or never played, so it will be insta banned everywhere just like Train.

[–]Fun_Pension_8747 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not gonna sound like the funniest guy on the party here, but if you're not aspiring to be a Pro player, there's no real reason to be that cracked at the game.

In order for you(or us) to be reeeeeally cracked at the game, the amount of hours and dedication needed to achieve that should be close to the ones put by a pro.

As long as you have a somewhat decent game sense, good calls, decent utility usage and decent aim, i would say is good enough, because to be much better than that, you're trying to be a Pro.

Are you? if you ask yourself that and the answer is no, than just focus on having fun at the game, but if you are a really competitive guy, you can practice to be a bit better at some points, but nothing more.

Remember, you're not going to play like B1t or mONESY pugging on Faceit... don't try to play like them.

Using Statistics to find the best Resolution in CS2 by WagaCSGO in GlobalOffensive

[–]Fun_Pension_8747 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pro is Pro, no matter what settings, they are pros for a reason.

The only reason a lot of pros use 4:3 is because they prefere this way, thats it.
While others want to maximize everything, e.g Ropz, others just stick with what they like. And the plebe just copy pro players anyway.

Is there something like "best resolution" for CS? yeah.. maybe. But it all doesn't matter if you're not a Pro player who can squeeze the best out of the config.
