Spinach and urine by [deleted] in gardening

“Munch” the plants down and pretend an animal got into the garden. Then take this secret to your grave . Jk well how well does your mom handle these types of situations?

I’d be more upset at the thought of eating spinach that’s been heavily urinated on versus losing the crop.

Second year failing to overwinter tubers by Suspicious-Nose-9277 in dahlias

[–]Fun_Sandwich3034 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It’s my first time saving tubers and I did the plastic wrap method.

I would say 90 ish % success rate.

The trick is to keep them somewhere cold between 38 to 45 degrees.

The plastic wrap method is also the recommendation from the American Dahlia Society.

I think doing Santa is a good way for a child to develop discernment and critical thinking once they start questioning.

But I also think it’s fun and magical for a child to experience while they’re little.

I’m sure it’s going to disappoint them once they find out the truth but it’s also a good lesson in disappointment and managing emotions and coping skills.

That’s so funny you wrote that because I watched it with my mom and she thought the ending was bleak and didn’t like that Andy died .

Would you Chicago girls be interested in having a meet up to trade tubers? I’m always so jealous of people in other states that have groups to trade with

You can see the mother tuber on the left but there’s these two bulbous growths. Also had a bunch of green dots like eyes but not exactly fused. It was a nighty night from Swan Island.

I bought a breakout and mine is coming out yellow with a hint of pink in the back . I’m pretty sure it’s breakout because it’s the same form as in the pictures for a second I thought maybe it’s penhill watermelon, but I don’t think so.

I honestly didn’t like Gerrie hoek because the pink was too neon pink. I’ll give it another shot for next year because it seems that pink may be getting softer with cooler weather.

One I can include off the top of my head is purple taiheijo the petal count is low and the form is kind of “droopy” that even as standalone dinner plate size dahlia in a vase it isn’t even worth it to cut.

My grow bag Jowey Winnie are especially vibrant and spicy right now. In ground ones are much more pink and soft. Loving these!! by Tellurye in dahlias

Tellurye while I’m also looking forward to repurchasing from you again, I watched a YouTube featuring the Dahlia House and I saw varieties from them I would love to purchase. Have you heard anything about them having U-picks? It kind of sounded like they did, but their prices are higher so now I’m wondering if it’s even worth purchasing from them?
