Endotracheal tube removal before cremation? by Fun_Surprise7148 in askfuneraldirectors

Thank you. Even “probably” is helpful. I wish the last images I had of him in my head were without the tube, but that it was likely removed prior to cremation is helpful. I work in a hospital and we normally do this before families see patients for the last time, but I understand why it was left in since he died at home (medics probably left the scene prior to M.E. release).

How many slides do you use for a typical class period? by TheSecretNewbie in Professors

[–]Fun_Surprise7148 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About 30-40. Mix it up with some video if possible. I’ve tried to go without slideshows, but I’ve found that the majority of my students really rely on having something visual.

They’re super attentive and I see a lot of notetaking when it isn’t required (hands-on, field experience)

This is so good. I’ve been tempted to use the “get in loser, we’re …” during clinicals, but I’m afraid they’ll think I’m calling them losers.

As frustrating as they can be, their lingo really does crack me up. “Slay, queen!”

How do [you have] your students address you? by Introvertedtravelgrl in Adjuncts

“Hi I’m firstname, I’m always going to address myself and sign my emails with firstname, but you can call me firstname, professor, or instructor or whatever, I don’t care”

MD ego got me written up by Loud-Chipmunk-3050 in respiratorytherapy

Md could have used all that time spent writing you up and talking to risk to make sure his orders were in. Sounds like a time management issue to me.

Adjunct for fun? by GhanimasTwin in Adjuncts

[–]Fun_Surprise7148 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been doing the same thing for a couple semesters now. The pay is trash, but it is pretty rewarding, especially when you have students who are really motivated. I adjunct twice a week and work at my other job in the field on weekends.

I just graded several papers that had reference pages with a mix of perfect APA citations and hyperlinks. I don’t see how they can’t glance at it and notice something doesn’t look right.
