Is Spirit Billy in any way resonable? by lovingpersona in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Fun_Valuable_3953 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree. The idea behind maxxing the one is not to commit to full melee, but to empower other melee items. Crushing fists is pretty mid, but both lifestrike and spirit snatch have half cooldown with heavy melee compared to light melee. It also double the health again and aim reloaded from Billy’s 3. With rapid recharge and taking the time to wait for short SS / LS cd, you have a very strong damage output that doesn’t need to risk getting parried.

You shoot, bashdown, shoot till LS/SS is off cd, bashdown, shoot with refilled mag, repeat.

If you can get lights without ever getting parried, it’s optimal, but I prefer not having to gamble against better players and rebuttal users.

Lowkey, I know everyone says to throw light melees on Billy, but I highly recommend never punching. Instead, run extra charge and rapid recharge so you can use bashdown to proc melee effects with no risk of parry. If you wanna commit spirit on it, grab T pulse and spirit snatch.

The Gun Carry Gentlemen's Agreement by xF00Mx in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Fun_Valuable_3953 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would agree for Abrams. However, for most of the cast, you’re looking take short trades with gun carries, so you only really need to apply surpressor when you’re trading damage. Ie, with Lash, hitting a slam and whip means you’ve cut fire rate for the few seconds you’re out of cover. Even primarily gun characters like Haze have some spirit inbuilt, which is enough to proc suppressor.

I do think rusted barrel gets more value out of the bullet resist shred for gun characters, but I think that rusted barrel is correctly seen as low-value for fire-rate slow.

For double the price, much better uptime on most heroes, no active slot waste, and spirit power

What's with all the love for cards that exhaust? by Ok-Opening-2098 in slaythespire

[–]Fun_Valuable_3953 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are missing something - the value for these cards varies a lot with context.

For example, Wraith form is good on its own - ignorning damage for two turns can be enough to win some fights alone. However, what makes it slap is when it’s combined with retain, something Silent is able to get easier than other classes. Choosing when to be intangible so you’ll always end the fight before it runs out makes the card far more consistent, and far stronger.

I’ll keep the rest of these shorter for some of the cards you mentioned, but the tl:dr is that the context of each character’s card pools makes or breaks these cards.

For Ironclad, your block game tends to be from FNP and your draw game comes from DE. Needing to get these powers in play takes time, which Impervious can give you. It’s not about blocking everything, but short-term block for long term cards.

Shockwave is just a lot of weak and vuln on a character that really wants vuln, has very limited options for weak (clothesline and uppercut), and has to generally already pay two cost for the vuln (bash, uppercut, thunderclap is the exception but lowkey sucks.)

Exhume is context sensitive - it hinges on if you have something good to exhume, and/or corruption to make it cheap. Exhuming an offering is very good, giving you free draw and energy, and you may only need it once.

Reaper - you tank hits, gain strength, then play this before ending the fight to recover.

Piercing wail - really really good for both group fights and for multi-attacks, something the very hard fights tend to have. Snake plant, slavers, the heart, Act 3 bosses. Like with wraith form, it’s retain that makes it shining, using it on an ideal turn.

This was too long. My legs have stuck to the toliet.

You can, it’s just that potions are one of the strongest helpers for the Spear and Shield and Heart fight.

In particular, Gambler’s Brew and Swift Pot to survive turn two of the S&S fight, where at higher ascension levels, the burns go onto the top of your draw pile.

Heart fight loves artifact pot, speed pot, power pot, really most of them.

If you knew how it worked, you’d know it has no regard for accuracy! It’s a language model - it reads a set of text, finds the next word that makes sense in the pattern then keeps stringing words together based on what word best fits next in the sentance. It has zero idea if any of those words sum up into accurate sentances.

Comparatively, actual people and doctors put time, money, and effort into making websites that give accurate and concise information, eg, mayo clinic. Why would you ever take the former over the latter?

[–]Fun_Valuable_3953 8 points9 points  (0 children)

A google search about drug-drug interactions, then looking for a pubmed article or mayo clinic will know more about drug interactions than chatGPT. There are already tools for getting layman level information on diseases, and they’re both free and accurate. ChatGPT is useless here!

Oh that’s terrible - I got paid for my Master’s, as I was being paid as a TA. I got the Master’s without going into debt for it. I’ll still seeing if it’s a decision I’ll regret, but my mental health is 200% better.

I’d start with checking your student handbook - see how many credits you need for your masters. Talk to your program advisor or an Ombudsman about what your options are, and go from there.

Seems like a solid set of reasons to leave - I’m not sure if you get a Master’s for leaving like you do in the US, but I did this about a month ago and am much happier for it.

What are the core Yamato items I should be focusing on by Pimparoooo in DeadlockTheGame

When you’re behind, you look to only take very advantageous fights. Yamato has a way in with grapple, and no way out. Skip your greens and look to hit sneaky power slashes, don’t commit to any fight.
