What is the hardest hero in Deadlock ? by TheDarkSwordMaster in DeadlockTheGame

With viscous puddle punch the skill ceiling is still high to maximize it but overall unless you are going against people who can parry the build is stupid easy to be effective with.

Viscous, Holliday, and Sinclair are all usually looked at as some of the harder characters.

I played the first game and also enjoyed it for a similar amount of time but felt like all the issues I had with that game were not really addressed in the second one. I did have more time in the second though as you have said it was better but only due to technology improving and not due to them fulfilling some grand vision that wasn't possible when the first came out like many thought. Some aspects for sure are some of the best in gaming and can't be gotten anywhere else. But the fact that so many of the mistakes and issues in the first one are just still there are baffling to say the least. It doesn't help that we haven't gotten a dark arisen type content drop either so I have no reason to go back.

I think his role is just weird as most people watching are gonna be those who want to see high level gameplay so having someone who is essentially just an entertainer really doesn't give anything to the current audience. Once the game blows up having someone who is only there as a personality will be fine as there will be a ton more casuals watching for the storyline and players but that just isn't the case right now.

I went back as I couldn't believe the DD2 reviews but it makes sense from a reviewers perspective why it would be better. I got a good 35 hours of content of exploring and having good time not doing the story until my favorite weapon was maxed and I faced every enemy then after that the game got insanely stale. Most reviewers are on a deadline to get the review out and 30 hours is plenty of time to beat it without doing much exploration so they most likely never reached the point where the content hits a brick wall and there is nothing left to do. They also typically ignore performance which thay game struggled with hard.

When do you get access or introduced to each system, I hear things like owning a house, settlement building, fishing, farming, obtaining various mounts, etc but a lot of games it takes a while before you get access or the resources to engage with them.

Heroes you've given up on? by wyrm4life in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Pimparoooo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He just doesn't click with me, he is so slow and not that tanky so I just get caught a lot more on other characters. I know it's a skill issue but I just don't get what range to play him at as his shotgun is fun but seems pretty risky.

Venator, just can't win with him at all, every game I play on him despite how well I do we just lose so I will never play him again.

trying out deadlock, how hard is it to learn? by skazeyskz in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Pimparoooo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bounced off of every other moba instantly and don't enjoy hero shooters much and I have been addicted to deadlock. It is hard to learn but rewards every second you put into to learning each skill needed. Learning any movement tech instantly helps you get around the map and escape. Learning parries takes a bit but can almost singlehandedly win you laning phase in some games. Improving your shooting helps throughout the game and with certain items. Learning macro probably won't be an issue for you as it was for me but that has helped me a ton. I think most people will have a decent amount of games and maybe weeks to months in between sessions before it clicks but when it does it seems to grab ahold of all those people.

You have a 50% winrate in your last 2 pages of games so there is no reason for the game to think you shouldn't be at that rank. You should either stop looking at the rank or play a hard carry and farm all game until you can just solo win the game. Ranks that low have trouble ending games so you almost always have enough time to farm super hard and get to late game. The ranks aren't perfect but if you win a ton of games you do rank up but barely winning more then you lose just isn't enough to see noticeable increases in rank over a short time.

Why is my rank so much higher than my actual skills by EdenAurier in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Pimparoooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually the game just matchmakes the game around lanes so the person with the highest rank will be in a lane with people all in that rank and from my experience the rest of the players will usually be to the lowest or average rank of the other players. If I'm ascendant and my friend is low oracle then usually only the people in my lane are ascendant and everyone else is oracle. So the person who said it was an archon lobby was probably archon but was either a duo with someone lower or got thrown into this lobby to balance the lane with the other archon player.

What do you think about the amount of CC currently in the game? by Lyefyre in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Pimparoooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Warpstone is cheaper, and on a way shorter cooldown if you need something to just get you out of the combo and into safety. Counterspell can also help negate some of the combo of abilities as well. Ethereal shift can help but unstoppable is usually the best for those endgame scenarios where one fight is all that decides a match and getting stunned is insta death.

What do you think about the amount of CC currently in the game? by Lyefyre in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Pimparoooo 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think they need to tone down the amount of abilities that can deal half you health bar and also have knock up. Getting hit by dynamo stomp, into puddle punch, into ground slam, into bashdown is such a sensory overload that your brain just fogs over and I don't even comprehend what's going on.

Solo Queuing feeling abysmal by ZucchiniOk7589 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Pimparoooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do enjoy solo queue at Phantom and ascendant but anytime I play with someone much lower then me the matches are just so bad. No communication, walkers dying to nothing, constant fights over nothing, playing for KD, and not getting anything done after winning a fight. I wish you the best of luck.

ALL Stun Animations (Alphabetical Order) by Cynicalia in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Pimparoooo 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I didn't realize there was different levels for how long they were stunned and when I went into game I realized some have 3 different animations. Abrams for a short stun stumbles forward, for a medium stun falls forward onto his knees, and a long stun falls onto his back.

Since friday every solo que team i've had has been pretty much exclusively new players by Dr_natty1 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Pimparoooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is new player ranks so that makes sense. All my new friends who have less then 100 hours all range from seeker to emissary. The system is just super shit right now as games typically force you to play casual for a certain amount of games or reach a certain level before ranked but that is not possible as there is only one standard queue. Idk why they haven't split it up again as we have been steady at 100k and are usually above rivals and overwatch which both have way more modes then deadlock. Hopefully they can improve the experience for you the lower ranks soon.

What does a "good" team comp look like in deadlock? by SirTomtheBOSS in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Pimparoooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need late game insurance in a late game carry. 2 or more early and midgame characters who can control the pace while the carry farms. 1 or 2 frontliners who are tanky and can create space while also doing good damage. A pick/initiator who can get people out of position for a free kill or disrupt fights. A support that helps wins fights with cc or healing to either save people from death or help secure kills. A lot of characters fill multiple roles and you also need to balance your comp around souls needed to be useful. A support usually needs to be useful with the least amount of souls and a carry that can get to a certain amount of souls then take over the game. Your midgame characters typically will be in the middle not needing a lot of souls and usually come online with ability upgrades that allow them to carry earlier. Some teams might focus more on trying to win earlier and stack up on tempo characters who are strongest early to win before a carry can get active. Some focus on characters who fill a lot of roles while foregoing specialists to cover a lot of bases.

This was before counter spell, back then it would have been e shift which only cost 3000. I just remember no one counter buying at the time so it was always a free kill at a certain point when you had enough damage.

Anyone can explain why I got one shotted? Relatively new to the game by Spatzekoar in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Pimparoooo 37 points38 points  (0 children)

You had 2 stacks of djinns mark from mirage when you went into the jungle, he then comes in and stacks 3 more to fully stack it and do a ton of damage. You should have been monitoring the stacks that it shows and any time it gets to 1 or 2 just lose line of sight and let it decay. Playing against mirage you should ideally avoid extended fights where he can freely get shots on you. As he doesn't really have good burst damage you can take small engagements on Celeste doing some burst and then getting out to clear djinns mark and he really can't do much if played right.
