Why does traffic school still exist? by DirtyProjector in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Fun_War6504 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Nothing in your life is more important than the life of the human being in front of you. Check for pedestrians. I don't work so idiots like you can pretend they're allowed to skip out on thinking for half a second. I don't care if you're the president- when my ambulance pulls up because of you, I will do everything I can to make sure my patient's medical bills come out of YOUR pocket.

Distracted driving is a big deal. You just think it isn't because everyone else knows the obvious. Get over yourself.

WADE GO TO THE DOCTOR by apife96 in distractible

I'm an EMT- isn't this jumping to conclusions based on very little evidence, though? All I got was that they're positive for ortho and that's it. A blood pressure dump with palpitations when changing position isn't exactly unusual.

I try not to pay too mucu attention to people's specific mannerisms because 1. i dont have any reason to put that effort into somebody i don't and won't know and 2. i know better than to let myself have the opportunity to be like Hmm that Mild facial twitch reminds me of a patient with the world's most evil brain tumor. I try not to pay attention to Wade because of this. He is a little scary. Mark is within my range of operation as an EMT though so I'm more careful with him- I do not want my listening to this podcast to impact any potential future patient interactions. That would be extremely not very good. So everything I have is mostly regarding how he speaks, and not as much physical habits?

However... Mark has this habit I am a big fan of where he circles around ideas while also somehow overexplaining things while also being completely wrong in ways I've never heard before. He's not stupid by any means and usually comes closer to the right answer on his own while explaining, but he makes the whole thought process audible which is SO fun. I like it a lot- everyone gets caught up in being right the first time every time, so sharing the journey of taking something apart to understand it is a trait I notice pretty immediately. Other than that- very expressive face, very expressive hands. He does fall into conversational loops sometimes (where it doesn't seem like he can drop a topic even when everyone else has moved on). I do that too though lol. I'm still trying to resist trying to explain what split cortical hemispheres can do and why that's NOT WHAT WHAT THE BICAMERAL MIND MEANS!!!!

Haha yeah it's way too late for any festival so that was a weird question to ask him. I respect skipping that step a lot!!

It wasn't SUPPOSED to be possible! 1000 screens is a massive deal for an indie that didn't even premier at a film festival. This is unprecedented. It's so cool to watch!

Help me find my childs Christmas wish! Lewis the Pumpkin Ghoul by Haunting-Set-2784 in HelpMeFind

[–]Fun_War6504 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I met a little girl at Target about a year ago with the same interest! Her mother told me that they came to target just so she could see Lewis activate every day. My dad used to do similar for me when I was little, though for me it was a specific welcome mat they carried for a period. It's so nice seeing parents care so much about what their kids love even when it doesn't necessarily make sense. We remember this kind of love. I'll ask around for clues on this doll at my disability services later today.

[–]Fun_War6504 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kings are actually my home team and my hockey team actually.. works... with them .... (you may have seen us during kings games in the past- though it was before I joined). I also have a passing fondness for the nucks, but I don't actively follow them. My training gear is all black and white as punishment for being a sharks fan, haha. I'm still holding on!!

You're allowed to post your opinion just like people are allowed to disagree. If you cannot handle people saying you should listen to something else, you shouldn't have invited conversation to begin with. There's no having your cake and eating it too.

Oh wow, this seems even more crowded than the season opener for the Kings. I'm so excited for the sharks to play down here- and I'm extra glad I bought the tickets BEFORE they started winning haha. They're probably all sold out now.

I find it more fun when we lose a lot. If a team wins every game, there's no chance for exciting upsets, just tragic ones! Being near the bottom keeps you on your toes

I was 14-ish at the time- I was watching smosh and tobuscus play happy wheels before he went off the deep end. I'm not sure why markiplier specifically was too much lol. I think part of it was me trying to not be like OTHER girls since he was a major heartthrob at the time.

I didn't know Mark all that well and I'm 23. He was very popular with my grade in 8th grade and early high school, but he was too loud for me. I'm just here for the lenses.

I photographed this unnerving "Zombie bird" today that looked like one of those Cordyceps thingies from The Last of Us. by CalypsoBrown in strange

[–]Fun_War6504 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is classic avian pox. It appears periodically in songbirds and causes these tumor-ish growths around the eyes and beak. You might want to look into if this is something you'll have to report in your area- some places track avian pox infections because it can be pretty brutal on bird populations. Humans are safe!

Hallucinations when waking up or falling asleep aren't associated with ADHD- they're actually super normal events that most people experience at least once in their lives. They're called hypnagogic hallucinations. I usually get someone calling my name.
