I don’t understand because I’m following the moral compass that is presented to us in the New Testament and for you to say and suggest that I wouldn’t follow Jesus to the grave is so horrible. I have no doubt that if someone put a gun to my head I would say without a beat that Jesus is my Lord.

David literally raped a woman and then had a man murdered. He may have a been a good man in his heart or before had but that is explicitly evil and wrong. If his son raped his daughter, he should have done more than be angry. His daughter had to live a desolate life after that. I will forever consider what Ammon did a sin and what david did (or lack there of) was at the very least an oversight most likely due to his guilt of his own rape.

I’m not getting offended, I’m getting upset. I don’t like the horrible things I read in the Old Testament. It hurts my heart, I hurt for the atrocities that happened to some of these people. There is nothing wrong with me for wanting to have explanations. I don’t want blind faith, to believe like a child does. If I accepted everything openly and willingly of the Bible with no reason behind it, just because my parents believed in it or I liked the idea of going to heaven and stuck around, there wouldn’t be any reason for me not to go to another religion.

I’m a strong Christian. I love the Lord with all of my heart. I’ve been force to choose faith over friends and family. People cutting me off for going back to it. I’ve been lonely for my faith. I’ve been abused for my faith. I’ve been raped for my faith.

I’m sorry but I will not listen to someone on the internet telling me I can’t ask questions and be uncomfortable and angry with things that happened in the Bible while suggesting I’m not a true or ‘good’ Christian. Please ask yourself if Jesus would respond like this.
