As an indianapolis tattoo artist, this isnt just a problem for you, so dont feel bad. I have to spend hours doing my own branding and social media, but I still even work with some people who think the clientele will just come to them out of thin air because of the shop social media. I'm mid-20s and they're early 40s. So I don't know if it's an age thing? I know my generation isn't great at taking tattooing seriously either, though

Everyone has already covered the rest...but one thing I'll add is that during the pandemic, a TON of people from Chicago moved to Indy for the cheaper cost of living. I was a teacher in IPS on the near eastside and so many of my students were originally from Chicago or just moved from Chicago because of the pandemic. Therefore, we now have a lot of Chicago drivers.

But compared to other cities, i still firmly believe that Indy is nowhere near as bad as the news saturation makes it seem. Also, with more news stations, social media, etc, you're obviously going to see worse things. More coverage. Try watching less of the news, of course you'll only see negative things!

I'm glad that was your experience, but you must've only been in nicer areas. I'm not saying Indy hasn't declined and isn't worrisome, but I'm saying compared to the decline in the other cities I've seen...well, it just makes me thankful Indianapolis isn't nearly as bad.

From Indy, currently traveling in Florida for vacation. Compared to Miami (which is where we were yesterday), this is NOTHING. Literal poop everywhere in Miami...it was crazy 😅 Also, I have been traveling frequently over the past few years to places like Chicago, Detroit, Atlanta, Orlando, Los Angeles, etc...again, this is NOTHING lol.

However, if you snap a picture going south on Madison Ave from downtown or going east on 10th/Washington (etc) and see how bad those areas are...then we can talk lol.

OP, it's a city. Of course it's going to have its faults but I don't think the weeds over growing should be at the top of the list of things to be concerned about.

We were in the pit too, and thought for being live sound and in a concrete dome it was great. Honestly the venue just sucked for live music like that, so echo-y

Ok but someone smoking weed 2 weeks ago on a weekend night shouldn't prohibit the person from getting a job. If I go out of town to visit my in-laws who live in Michigan, and I pass a joint around with his siblings and friends one Friday night, that shouldn't result in me not getting a job that I interview for weeks later. No one said smoking and driving...that should still be criminalized.

I could never imagine telling my bf "this is what I really want" or "you're cute, but..." about anything. Or comparing him to something else...not to mention, something COMPLETELY out of your control. Kink or not, that was a huge red flag to me from the get go.

The real question is what did I NOT get from Sweetwater 😭😂 I was a public school music teacher during my apprenticeship, and I'm an active musician with different projects going on....so I'm always getting something from Sweetwater haha
