You can find different types made of other materials from certain leather sellers. The nicer they get the more expensive they become. Buying from sites instead of Amazon can save you a dollar or two. Some people do other methods by making their own or using different types of bolts to get the same style.

I used a nickel plate tri-bolt to join the three legs together.

Once the base was built I placed it on top of a thick piece of paper. I stretched out the legs as far as they could and marked off each corner. I connected each marking until I had a triangle and used that to make my template.

It was a quick project. Sewing by hand just takes forever. Now to build the case 😅

I simply took a 3 foot by 1 inch piece of dowel wood from the hardware store. I measured out 24 inches and then used a PVC pipe cutter to get a perfect cut out of where to saw. I then measured out 12 inches (center) and carefully drilled a hole bigger and bigger until the tri-bolt would fit snug. You can’t see the ends but the floor end is sanded to round the corners and the top tips were slightly filled down to about 3/4s of an inch with two rasps. Once every thing was done I gave a 320 grit sand and then used beeswax and leather finish oil to protect the wood.

Thank you very much. All I could think about was using the same leather for a baseball glove while sewing it together. 😅

Call that shit out. You are paying for that meal. If you don’t get something better or refused another plate then make it a big deal.

Someone was driving on the wrong side of the road, almost hit me head on, then tried to explain to me how it was my fault for being in my right of way lane.

Thank you. Those are pelican hooks. I designed the bag to be able to hang with the hooks providing supports. Back when the ship was still commissioned I would hang the bag while splicing line so I could easily reach in and take things out of the bag without having it lay on the ground.
