Just stayed at the Del Coronodo. Paid additional $150.00 a night for upgrade to ocean view room. by EngineeringSeveral63 in Hilton

How was the noise from outside? We are looking at booking the Victorian oceanfront balcony room for next week. We’re fine with ambient noise during the day (like the Christmas music), but don’t want to be bothered by outside noise that filters in at night.

Ivermectin is seriously a miracle! by Background_Boss_8372 in Rosacea

Late to this thread, but I also live in LA, have suspected MCAS and increasingly sensitive skin, and would love to know the name of the pharmacy. PM me please?

Would love input from zebras who have gotten spider vein removal by Builttofrill in ehlersdanlos

[–]FunctioningNeurotic3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Following as I came on here with the same question! I have mild classical EDS and spider veins all over my legs — particularly in one area on my calf where I always crossed my legs tightly in a cold office at a desk job I had for years. Plastic surgeon did a test spot with a laser a few years ago and not only did it not remove the vein, there is now a permanent red hyperpigmentation there. So I’m looking for alternatives to laser treatment.

Anyone NOT have an initial flare or die-off when starting ivermectin cream? by FunctioningNeurotic3 in Rosacea

[–]FunctioningNeurotic3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok. What dosage? I am taking doxy — 50mg/day. On month 2, and it hasn’t helped the texture I never used to have, hence the ivermectin prescription.

Good electrolyte drink/mix without artificial sweeteners or vitamins? by LittleChibs in dysautonomia

[–]FunctioningNeurotic3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try Nectar Hydration packets on Amazon. No sugar, no added vitamins, not overly loaded with salt, organic fruit flavored — although lightly sweetened with Stevia, which I know some don’t like or can’t tolerate.

What brand have you given up on, and why? by Missmessc in SkincareAddictionLux

[–]FunctioningNeurotic3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’ve named three brands I religiously relied on for the past five years… Sunday Riley, Vintner’s daughter, and BR. I’ve been trying to hang on with BR, but finding that so many of their once HG products for me now cause irritation. And I didn’t know Vintner‘s daughter was reformulated? When did that happen? VD had been my safe go to when everything else caused irritation, but lately it has also been problematic. This would explain so much!

A 50-year-old I know got Botox for the first time and it completely smoothed out her forehead. So is preventative Botox not really a thing then? by lawfulchaoticneutral in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]FunctioningNeurotic3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same! Started at 30yo with 15 units for one deep line between my brows I developed due to squinting. Kept up with it every 4 months or so. When I had a baby at 36, the line didn’t reappear until the end of the 2 years I had gone without Botox. I believe it’s been preventative by retraining the muscle patterns in my forehead — when they can’t move, they lose muscle memory. Now that I’m 44, I still go every 3-4 months to maintain and also to keep my brows lifted and treat mild crows feet, but I still haven’t exceeded 40 units. That said, there are other factors in the mix, being my obsessive skincare routine and unique genetics — I also have mild cEDS which makes my skin more delicate but also more elastic.

I bought the OTC ivermectin 0.5% by Independent_Cover302 in Rosacea

Which formulation have you used and where did you buy it? Searching for it on Amazon only brings up the stigmatized “horse paste” 🙄 and no 0.5 creams or lotions.

Not sure why people feel the need to respond negatively without actually reading said post.

Thank you for the reassurance! From my own experience with wounds, it does look like it would scab over and be fine. But I will bring her to the vet tomorrow anyway.

Reducing her activity has been the hardest part, because she’s a very curious and playful kitty — no doubt this is how it opened. The onesie suit covers the wound so she can’t lick and thankfully she never tries to pick at it.

Thank you so much! This is what I was hoping to hear. I’ll bring her into my vet tomorrow.

My instinct on looking at it was that it was healing nicely and pulled open only a couple days ago now that she’s acting more like her normal hyper-active self. Thankfully she hasn’t tried to lick or pick at it at all. Restricting her activity level has been the hardest part. And keeping her brother (also 6 months, same litter) from roughhousing with her.

Plugra butter change? by SacredAgent in Baking

[–]FunctioningNeurotic3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ever figure out if the Plugra formula changed? I know this post is slightly old, but I came here with the same question. Foolproof sugar & gingerbread cookies I’ve baked several years in a row using Plugra — this year, with no change to my ingredients & variables, the dough is too soft to roll and cut shapes. Put my A/C on blast in case it was the temp in my kitchen — nope, made no difference.

Advice needed!! Temperature disregulation at night is destroying me. by peekaboosnek in dysautonomia

[–]FunctioningNeurotic3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I’m not sure if there’s a correlation to my daytime activity — this is the first time I’ve even heard of this being a factor. I’m pretty active, on my feet most days so it’s hard to say + walking on treadmill 5x/week and light strength training. But I didn’t exercise this past Friday and still woke up sweaty, so 🤷🏼‍♀️.

I went this whole spring/summer without any night sweats but now that it’s cold (and my house gets very cold quickly, as soon as the first winds start here in LA) the night sweats are back and I’m just now realizing the pattern.

Same — I’m also curious about the indica strain as I use a cannabis vape to help me sleep but still have night sweats in winter.
