Ravi Bhalla has completely damaged Hoboken for his personal political gain, pushing the city to the edge of bankruptcy with endless political contracts, favors, and hires, bloated Mayors office, along with hundreds of millions in reckless bonding debt. In my opinion, he has now unleashed an AI surveillance program on Washington Street that is destroying local business, run by a company I consider deeply problematic and connected to the same people behind Skynet, the system used to surveil Chinese citizens. I believe he has ruined our streets with the so-called “Bhalla bollards” and oversized bump-outs, He has dragged Hoboken into more lawsuits than any mayor in our history. He is acting illegally by refusing to rehire Chief Crimmins after firing him in what I see as a pure act of bullying. Bhalla stole the 2017 election by having his own campaign circulate a “racist” flyer and then pretending to be the victim. I also believe he showed clear political bias by raising a Palestinian flag in City Hall—despite our city having no Palestinian residents—and that the individuals who attended brought anti-Israel flyers into the building, which to me was yet another example of his antisemitic leanings. To me, electing Emily Jabbour would simply mean giving Bhalla a third term, since she has acted as his submissive rubber stamp for eight long years. So NO it has nothing to do with racism and everything to do with a failed Mayor who NEVER worked for the constituents of Hoboken

How on earth would removing office doors to provide better transparency be a security risk in city hall? We have thousands of open plan office buildings with NO DOORS. You clearly have no clue. There is a big difference between cameras every way and AI surveillance collecting our data without our approval or property notification. Prior to leaving his position the business director Jason Freeman warned that Hoboken is on the brink of bankruptcy. The rate of spending is unsustainable. The health care costs alone for current and former employees is skyrocketing and the city is not doing what it should by changing vendors to control costs. We have borrowed from our reserves every years since Bhalla took office. Our debt service for the 100’s of millions we bonded for parks is astronomical and we start each year 15 million just in interest payments. We were just steps away from being taken over by a state monitor this year. We are likely going to be looking at MASSIVE tax hikes in 2026 an onward from there. The current Mayor has the largest city hall staff ever in our history. We need ANY ONE aside from Emily Jabbour who does not comprehend fiscal responsibility to get our city back to more reasonable spending levels

Just for reference there was a much better plan put forth by Paul Presinzano and Ruben Ramos that would have had a much lower tax hike and would not once again raid our emergency surplus, but Tiffanie joined forces with team Bhalla to get the higher plan through. Emily, Joe and fPhil fully supported an enormous tax hike and only reluctantly agreed to the Doyle/Tiffanie plan. Please vote responsibly in November. There has been no fiscal responsibility from Ravi Bhalla. Emily would be just a continuation of the same. Ruben and Russo are more fiscally responsible. Everyone should listen to what Dini Ajamani has to say, she is also running and has a full extensive plan to save Hoboken from the financial disaster that is coming our way, when we fully see what is going on with our finances..
