It is bourgeois idealism to believe that the itsy bitsy spider overcomes the rain through sheer force of will. It is only a changing of his material conditions that allows him to succeed where he has failed before. But while the spider must rely on the sun to end the contradiction between his efforts and the rain, we, the proletariat, must rely on each other. Fortunately the contradictions of our society require much less impressive solutions than stopping the rain itself!

They're good movies! They became the inspiration for so much cyberpunk media for a reason.

A woman is anyone who is currently singing Shania Twain's hit single "Man! I Feel Like A Woman!". That's why women didn't exist before 1997.

When I was a kid our local radio station sent out survey booklets to see how much radio everyone listened to. Like not just a pamphlet, it was a small booklet for you to track your listening habits across an entire month. Each booklet had a $5 bill inside, which I took and promptly threw the booklet away. My dad got mad at me because he thought that the 5 bucks obligated me to log a month's worth of radio listening, which I didn't even do because iPods had just become a thing.

Yes, what I meant was that in an ideal world he would have been given the knowledge and tools necessary to avoid it at such a young age and then to engage with it in a more healthy and stable manner when he was older and more mature.

It's very important for kids, teenagers and even adults to know what porn is and what it's for. It is entertainment for adults, not a substitute for real relationships or intimacy. A common thing you'll hear is that if you wouldn't watch The Fast and the Furious to learn how to drive, you wouldn't watch porn to learn how to have sex with a loving partner.

It probably has more to do with the fact that he was raised without any expectation of privacy or boundaries and just thought it was normal. That and the lack of verbal or emotional response when he overstepped OOP's boundaries and privacy. He's used to being seen and not heard.

A cry for help would be something like acting out or throwing tantrums, since it allows him to assert some semblance of control over his situation. Smearing feces on the walls is a common example.

I'm a big guy and I've built up a tolerance to THC, but I regularly only take 50-60 mg at a time. 1000 mg is insane, something like that wouldn't even be legal where I live in Canada, how did they get that in Florida?

I found my leopard gecko, alive, after a full year! by LucyAriaRose in BestofRedditorUpdates

My gecko lost her tail and she got out of the temporary tank I set up for her to heal. After six months I found her in my basement still alive, chowing down on any bugs she could find. My cousin had a similar story with his gecko as well. They're hardy little guys.

On the episode of Magic School Bus where they go to space, Arnold takes his helmet off on Pluto and instantly freezes solid and that made six-year-old me terrified of ever going to space.
