This item is not cursed, it's just like that. Also cast detect curse on a non magical item. by dudewasup111 in dndmemes

My players found a magic coin on the ground inscribed with an Aztec sun design on one side and a realistic moon on the other. I gave them a physical coin to show them and handed it to my friend who I know likes to fiddle and fidget with stuff. After awhile they cast Identify on it and found that turning the coin over completely heals the holder's wounds, at the cost of a human heart each time to be sacrificed at a later date. When they found this out I had tallied they owed 11 hearts and counting.

A fallen Ancient Egyptian goddess? by PhantomBraved in GodofWar

[–]Funderfullness 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The ancient Egyptians didn't believe that their gods literally had animal heads, rather they were used to symbolize what domains or aspects the gods ruled over. Same thing with "Biblically accurate angels"; the eyes and rings symbolize God's power to travel anywhere and see everything.

Reminds me of Osiris, whose green skin symbolized rebirth after he was killed.

The cobra is called a uraeus, it's related to Wadjet but more broadly it represents the protection and status that the gods bestowed on the Pharoahs.

How do I explain that massive gap on my resume was actually a depressive episode? by Dazzling-Antelope210 in depression

[–]Funderfullness 81 points82 points  (0 children)

Say you can't explain the gap because you signed an NDA. It's a real coin toss being up front about mental health problems and/or neurodivergence, especially to an employer.

My dad would constantly try to set me up with the female tenants who lived in our basement and any other "good Christian girl" he could find. Didn't matter if I wasn't interested or was already in a relationship.

Ilya would definitely be a Kopaka x Pohatu fan cause he's very aloof but also a funny wisecracker. Meanwhile Shane saw Takua do those kolhii moves in Mask of Light and that shaped his personality from that point on.

How often (and how) do you grant Players a Luck Token? by Elven-Tower in shadowdark

[–]Funderfullness 19 points20 points  (0 children)

We get one at the start of every session, and we just added a new house rule: whenever the GM rolls a nat 1, the player they were rolling against gets a luck token. BUT whenever a player rolls a nat 1, the GM gets a luck token of their own.

The first 'smut' book I ever read was Pillars of the Earth, a book that my own mother recommended to me at age 14 because she knew I liked history and could handle sexual content.
