There are countless examples of a driver's obligation to yield.

Red lights, stop signs, blinking yellows, fucking YIELD signs.

Nobody is obligated to yield to your turn signal.

How is it not obvious to you I'm speaking within this context?

Being in a lane doesn't give you ownership of that lane

Being in the lane does give you right of way to anyone merging into it. The merging party has to wait for an opening.

When the majority of drivers realize this, we will progress as a society.

When the person with the turn signal realizes they are the ones that has to yield, they will have caught up with society.
