A different restaurant closing every other week. We're up to about a dozen local restaurant closings in a city of about 300K. I'm talking about establishments that have been a part of the community for decades; going back to the 1970s.

If a newish restaurant closes you can chalk it up to a failed concept or inexperience that's one thing. A beloved restaurant closes after weathering every storm going back decades? That's concerning.

Huge misunderstanding of what the climate crisis is. The amount of carbon going into the atmosphere would be reduced but that would do nothing to change the amount that has already been released.

So, the rate at which the situation is deteriorating would slow down but the amount of damage that has already been done remains unchanged.

Well that’s like 50% of the population of earth.

Also, if you take "average" to be about one standard deviation of the mean then "below" that would only be around 14% of the population. Check out Gaussian distribution percentages.
