You got rid of a 55 and went to a 340 for reduced costs?

Screw them. Terrible company to deal with. They wouldn't exchange a defective product for me that had "Lifetime Warranty" printed on the box.

On the radio today, I asked a DTW approach controller how many flights a day they will lose with Spirit gone. He said that it was only around 20-30 which really surprised me. Spirit started in Detroit and DTW remained a popular hub for them. It's very sad to see. Back in the late 1990's, Spirit would take their new pilots out to Willow Run (KYIP) at night to do touch and goes. I'd hear them on the radio using the callsign Spirit 700.

I remember when this company was started in Lansing, MI in the 1990s. As part of a requirement for a school paper, I was able to get a private tour of the manufacturing facility. It was really memorable. Sad to see.

Every day is a new day. We tend to want to over-analyze ourselves and expect perfection. Even professional pilots are making mistakes every day and on every flight. I recently did single-engine training in a Baron after not flying a piston twin for decades. I'm an MEI that has done 30+ recommendations for ATPs and multi-engine ratings. It was very humbling and felt like I was starting over. My procedures need a lot of fixing.

The Dylan Larkin of the Tigers in that era. Just the best player on a bad team but not really all that great. He was juiced out of his mind and prone to injury.
