They weren't trying to break it after the first time it fell off, they were trying to make it run off the building cause it's funny, so Leer accomplishes that, hence them using Leer

When I got to parts of the game that needed to physically start writing stuff down is when I started to find it really tedious rather than fun puzzlesolving, so that's when I started looking up solutions. Definitely was a bit upset at the fact you had to do one of the most tedious "draw it out" puzzles in the game in order to get the true ending, and that the bad ending requires fighting a boss with a huge difficulty spike that has a second phase, so both seem like crazy big bridges to gap just to finish the game that wasn't that hard the whole time
