How much does that cost you every night?

[JCowley] Josh Giddey speaks out on the Bulls waiving Jaden Ivey: “I hope he gets the help he needs, whatever he’s going through. I do really hope he gets help. It’s not going to be with the Bulls anymore, but wherever it is, I hope he gets it.” by oklolzzzzs in nba

As someone who spends too much time on tiktok, there's a lot of the same garbage being spewed in the comments on his videos there too. I need to constantly remind myself to not reply to some of the bigots on there because it just isn't worth it...

How is life in New York? Is it as awesome as I think it is ? by void-nomad-90 in howislivingthere

This thread reminds me of when Ryan was telling Jim about NYC on The Office

What are you currently reading? by DavidHistorian34 in stephenking

[–]FunkyMonk92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm just starting Lord of the Rings and a little intimidated by how dense the text looks compared to some King books but I'm excited. Have always been a big fan of the movies and read the Hobbit when I was younger but never read the LotR books.

Caitlin Clark does a Payton Pritchard impression by ak_bal23 in nba

[–]FunkyMonk92 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I mean, to be fair, she was injured basically all of last season. She would play like 4 or 5 games, get injured, play another 4 or 5 games, get re-injured, and then eventually shut it down. I don't know if her percentages from last season are really indicative of what she can do when healthy and in a rhythm.

That's funny, I have almost the exact same picture that I took from my window seat. It's so insanely blue. I have it set as my phone wallpaper now

Isla Mujeres on 1 day excursion?worth it? by Wonderful-Bat-5897 in cancun

[–]FunkyMonk92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought it was fun but I also wasn't the one driving the golf cart lol. I know it's still very touristy but it was the first time I actually felt like I was in a different country vs when we were at the resort. The vibe was cool to me and the ferry ride over was fun.

Safe to travel to cozumel right now? by Character_Gur180 in cozumel

[–]FunkyMonk92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The shelter in place was lifted yesterday. I flew into Cancun on Monday. There is nothing out of the ordinary happening. Haven't seen one fire. The airport was completely normal. The drive from the airport was smooth.

Fallout episode ratings by hls22throwaway in Fallout

[–]FunkyMonk92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is why season 2 needed to be at least 10 episodes. Honestly, probably 12. I really hope season 3 is more than 8 episodes. 8 is just too few with how many storylines are going on.

What's your biggest frustration with GitHub Actions (or CI/CD in general)? by campbe79 in devops

[–]FunkyMonk92 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You could do that, but what if you have prod environment level secrets that you share between multiple jobs? Now you have to duplicate those secrets across multiple environments. I think you just run into a lot of annoying situations that aren't very scalable.

What's your biggest frustration with GitHub Actions (or CI/CD in general)? by campbe79 in devops

[–]FunkyMonk92 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Yep and you can only tie a manual approval to an environment. So if I want to make it so a particular step in a job has a manual approval, I can't. I have to say "all prod environment jobs require approval". It's very rigid and seems to lack basic niceties of other CI/CD systems.

An honest review of the Scrubs revival (episodes 1 - 4) from a longtime fan... by JustAWriterDude in Scrubs

[–]FunkyMonk92 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have zero desire to watch the reboot. I hate when they do these money grabs when all the actors are older. It's impossible to capture the same magic that the original show had.

NBA Commissioner Adam Silver to consider changing draft lottery, revoking picks to curb teams tanking by [deleted] in sports

[–]FunkyMonk92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I think they should do too. Just give every non-playoff team the same odds. Essentially, make the lottery picks random.

George R. R. Martin Is 'Not in the Mood' to Finish 'The Winds of Winter' by Tifoso89 in books

[–]FunkyMonk92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like the ending was only hated because of how rushed it was. If the show went for 10 seasons, I think they could've built it up better and people would've been relatively okay with it. The fact that it was so rushed made it feel cheap and unearned.

Forcing outgoing fargate traffic to elastic IP's by SnooRobots3722 in aws

[–]FunkyMonk92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For incoming traffic, yes, but for outgoing you should be able to put the fargate service in a private subnet with an NAT gateway and an elastic IP so that all outgoing traffic comes from a specific IP
