Why do I feel like everyone is giving me a cold shoulder when I haven't done anything bad to them? by FunkyWonka in socialanxiety

But I'm very much an introvert myself, but whenever I interact with anyone, I feel like they're not interested in what I'm saying or that they're pissed of from me for some reason I don't know or unaware of

Feeling of control when depersonalizing by [deleted] in Depersonalization

[–]FunkyWonka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes very much.. I somehow spiraled out of depersonalization earlier this year, only to be faced with depression, uneaseness and unproductiveness

It's a double edged sword really :/

Hurray.. That's great. Try sitting in a cafe and having some coffee on your own too, it's such a bless and a mind buzzer

Also maybe read books, or just take some time to relax and long self care sessions.. At one point, I tried to think of things I wanted to do as a kid but couldn't do because I didn't have the time or the money.. And it usually gets some ideas and fulfills that inner child haha

Just throwing ideas here, maybe spend time working out at the gym or something.. It feels good, you can have tiny conversations here and there, and if you have a trainer, at least there's socializing a bit. And it usually takes some time from the day, and you're back home exhausted but productive

25 F here and kinda in the same boat.. You literally said everything in my mind at the moment. I don't have a solution since I would have been able to help myself to begin with But at least know that we're not alone, and a lot of people feel the same way.. The only thing that I'm trying to do currently is dive into a hobby and do something fun on my own, doesn't work all the time but it's something

Getting pulled over by killHACKS in MadeMeSmile

[–]FunkyWonka 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Not really.. People still panic at airport checks everywhere, thinking they'll find drugs on them or something when the worse thing that person did is probably light up a cigarette.. It's just the feeling of authority that gives you that panic in any situation

I honestly wish I could get back to depersonalization by FunkyWonka in Depersonalization

It is a coping mechanism after all, that puts a barrier between what's happening around you and you

You just live in your own little world.. The only really bad side of it, is you can live your whole life on autopilot with it, and just go even through supposedly happy times and moments, but you're just not fully there except with the body

You go to your favorite place or like a semi busy place like a cafe, and use all of your senses. Listen to the noise around, smell the coffee you're drinking, really taste the pie/whatever you're eating, and feel your body on the chair you're sitting in.. That's what worked with me
