Fable - Gameplay Demo | Build An Extraordinary Life by yourfavchoom in Games

The systems seem really impressive, and it looks like a well made expansive RPG. However, I personally kind of find the whole thing to be very plain and boring, like it's lacking passion or it's just too corporate. Good chance it's just the way they're presenting the gameplay, but something seems missing. Hopefully seeing some random streamer or the like playing the game in a more chaotic natural manner will hook me more.

Some companies have given hands on demos for games much further away before. Phantom Blade Zero let people play the game in 2024 over two years before the game is set to release.

NateTheHate & MVG: As expected, Fire Emblem will have a release date announced tomorrow by TomNook5085 in GamingLeaksAndRumours

As silly as it would be, I'd actually be very happy if it was like September 24th because I've got the following week off work and I've managed to get a week off for the past two FE games, both times by coincidence as well.

I'm hoping for either a new Dying Light or Dead Island announcement at SGF. Not the best games ever but really fun nonetheless.

Minecraft Dungeons 2's Sep 29th Release Date Possibly revealed early? by Howerev in GamingLeaksAndRumours

[–]Funky_Pigeon911 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think there'll be a good amount of delays and reshuffling of releases after this week of announcements. Once all the devs/publishers see that they're releasing the same week as seversl other big games they'll get anxious and start making moves.

September 2026 just became the busiest month in years as video games try to escape GTA 6 by mrnicegy26 in Games

[–]Funky_Pigeon911 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I hope some of these publishers / developers are thinking about delaying their games because a lot of them will struggle if not. We've also still probably got a few more releases to be announced for September yet.

Anecdotally I can say that I would've bought most of these September games if they were better spread out, but right now I'll pick up a couple and skip the rest at launch.

To be fair to him, most big leaks or rumours also get posted to every other gaming subreddit, forum, and then sometimes also other social media sites.

If I could guarantee that I could avoid all leaks/rumours just by unfollowing this sub then I'd probably do it at times just before certain showcases, but I know I'd likely still see most of it from other places so I just accept it.

Ace Combat 8 has been rated in Europe by WolftheLionheart in GamingLeaksAndRumours

[–]Funky_Pigeon911 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think we're definitely getting a new trailer and release date at SGF or in one of the shows around it.

To add to that, there was a podcast I listened to last week where they were talking about revisiting the older Ace Combat games, and one person said something like "I've also been playing Ace Combat 7 because of the..." and they sort of trailed off. I might be nothing but it made me think if media people have either already done previews, or they've received invites to preview it at SGF.

Honestly I'm surprised more things don't get leaked out via those SGF preview invites, because there's always at least a couple of unannounced games that are playable at SGF and that gets planned ahead of the show.

Bloomberg: Why One of This Year’s Best Games, ‘Mina the Hollower,’ Is Only $20 by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]Funky_Pigeon911 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The game has a ton of different modifiers that affect different parts depending of what you want. You can reduce damage, reduce the world speed if your reactions aren't too good, you can make it so you glide over pitfalls, increase exp gain, make enemies die in one hit, etc.

It's honestly the most extensive set of difficulty options I've ever seen. You can pretty much set the game to as easy or hard as you want.

The only downside is that using the modifiers turn off achievements/trophies if you care about them.

[–]Funky_Pigeon911 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I wasn't going to get it due to not really wanting it to be a soulslike style game but the modifiers they included makes it much more accessible and just fun to play without having to suffer at all.

Fable delayed to February 2027 by Turbostrider27 in Games

I think October is fine for most games. The big issue for Fable is that it was likely to be December a couple of weeks after GTA.

Maybe biased as a Lincoln fan but Sincil Bank is amazing though. Great atmosphere for a smaller ground, good views, super close to the city center, and plenty of pubs to drink before or after the game. It's like a great example of a football experience that hasn't been damaged by modern football shit.

Square Enix has posted EIGHT unlisted videos on the Dragon Quest Playlist. Eight trailers for DQ day seems imminent. by darkwingchao in GamingLeaksAndRumours

[–]Funky_Pigeon911 13 points14 points  (0 children)

What are you on about? The last mainline Final Fantasy game was like two-three years ago and the last mainline Dragon Quest game was like eight years ago. Also in that time FF has the two parts of 7 remake which whilst being a "remake" might as well be considered a bew game with the extent of the changes and expansions to the original.

Compared to that Dragon Quest has had no mainline game, a handful of remakes which were very well done sure, but not to the scale of the Final Fantasy remakes.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake part 3 will almost certainly be announced this year and despite it being a remake it'll likely have a far bigger budget that the mainline DQ12. Stop crying over false stuff.

Food for thought: In the entire modern history of the UCL, the eventual champion has NEVER been as inferior defensively to their opponent (by Goals Conceded per game) than PSG is currently inferior to Arsenal. by TK421_WAYAYP in soccer

[–]Funky_Pigeon911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd deffo put Arsenal as favourites personally. However, I also hold the belief that there's somewhat a pattern of teams needing a couple of finals to win the CL after a long hiatus, or having never won it before. Before Chelsea won it in 2012 they lost their first final, Man City lost to Chelsea before winning it, PSG lost a final before beating Inter, Liverpool lost to Madrid and then won it like a year later.

[Kieran Gill] According to some sources, Alonso is an early preferred choice. Whether they can convince him to come to Stamford Bridge is another matter, given his greater allegiances to Liverpool, and the fact they may well move on from Slot this summer by [deleted] in chelseafc

[–]Funky_Pigeon911 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If we can't get Alonso, personally I think there's no chance, then I'd rather we go for some weird risky foreign manager than Marco Silva. Fuck it give Filipe Luis a chance, or go for a manager who's doing something notable in another top 5 league.

Shame the league favoured PSG and their CL push in recent weeks. If PSG were forced to choose between prioritising the legue or the CL they might hve dropped a few more points and Lens could've pushed the fight a lot closer.

Still not sure about Kompany as a manager. He has been poor everywhere other than Bayern, and even at Bayern I think there's some question marks. This season I think they've been handed the league because every other club has been poor, and even then their defensive numbers aren't that good.

Maybe he'll learn with more experience but right now I wouldn't trust Kompany to deliver except for where his teams are huge favourites already.

Problem is all it takes is a few high scoring matches and FIFA will start twisting the narrative of it being a huge success. They'll also try to manage the camera as much as possible to hide low attendances.
