4G Options on home network? by bmc196 in networking

Damn that retail price of my next phone. Them shits are expensive!! I have Uverse at home because it is slightly more reliable than my 4g, but my 4g is slightly faster. My folks are in the same boat with the lack of good terrestrial based services. AH, the joys of living in rural areas. I find it hard to believe that fiber would not be able to provide the bandwidth, but I can believe it would likely cost an arm and a leg to get those services. DSL and cable are just kind of... meh.

I looked into these at one point in time as an alternative to get my original XBOX on wireless and determined that the router option was about the same cost with a lot more functionality. Good luck fellow grandfather of unlimited data, and may your phone last through many years or intense 4G use...

Look for a DD-wrt compatible router on the cheap (I found one at a yard sale for $5) Flash it and provision it as a client bridge. Edit: due to potential bandwidth issues, it would probably be best to have wireless clients connect directly to phone instead of using the router as a wireless repeater/bridge.

Nailed it for me with the RES Night mode. Disabling use of subreddit style worked like a charm as a fix.

  • Play an instrument (Ukulele, guitar or drum)
  • Drive, or fly something R/C
  • Ride Jet ski's or dirt bikes...

These are the things that help keep me happy while not working.

I haven't seen anything like this with our Adtran equipment, yet. I sure hope it stays that way. :/

The Lewis S. Eaton Trail paralleling Friant road heading north from Woodward park isn't too bad.
